  1. Not to mention every good pitcher on the team either has arm problems or a history of not being good before recently.
  2. I'd honestly like to see them contracted. I really, really would. It's not just the playoff loss talking.
  3. I don't love it. I'm tired of it. I'm just emotionally dependent on it.
  4. It would have been nice had the Cubs put up any kind of legit effort though. But they didn't. And this is what happened. It is what it is. The Cubs are getting into the playoffs much more often now than in their last 60 years. It gives them a better chance to go all the way, but it also drastically increases the odds of things like this happening. I'll take that so long as they keep putting a competitive team out there. Eventually, you'll punch through. The odds of *This* happening are insanely low. Good teams do not get blown out this often, this consistently, this many times in a row. It's beyond statistically improbable.
  5. I'm serious that there's about a 20-30% chance i'm not. I'm really, really sick of this stupid drought overshadowing *everything* the Cubs do.
  6. Best of 7 totally would have made the difference
  7. Sucks how many's people's relationships with their dads are now meaningless.
  8. You, sir, are a lot better than me. I enjoyed the regular season, but I absolutely need a break. I agree now, but by March I'm definitely going to have the itch. I'm honestly going to spend the offseason weighing my options. I'm about 80% sure that I'll stick with the Cubs. The problem is that it's getting too big, it's overshadowing everything. The 100-years crap is annoying enough, it's going to just keep getting bigger and overshadow everything. "Zambrano threw a no-hitter today, is this the year?"
  9. Midway through game 1 woulda been better. Ninth inning, game 7, 2003 NLCS would have been a lot better. I'm sorry, I can't stop myself sometimes :(
  10. I can tell you now and save you the wondering.
  11. yea right, keep telling yourself that. i already have my daugher saying "o ubs o" You are a sick, sick man. If I have kids, they will *not* be Cubs fans.
  12. What are you protesting? What do you want them to do differently? They had the best team in the NL, they added a nasty ace-quality pitcher at the deadline. They spent a ton of money. Contraction is the only answer.
  13. 3-1 isnt nearly humiliating enough. They need to tack on a few in the eighth.
  14. Well, it looks like only one thing is ending 3-0 tonight...
  15. I can't believe you guys are getting excited about a leadoff double again. It's like my cat getting excited when I bring a sack full of burgers. Not once has the burger *ever* been for her, but she's excited anyways.
  16. With Derrek Lee batting in that inning, I do believe.
  17. I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. It's sincere right now, but I probably won't mean it in a few months. I know that I honestly wish the Cubs would be contracted tomorrow so I'd be free of my obligation to stick with my team and go root for the Cardinals.
  18. That is going to be a dang hard streak to keep up for another year or two. not really. chances are good we will get a lousy owner and never make the playoffs again, for like 25 years or so. its a shoe-in really. That is my #1 fear for the future. Does it really matter if all they are gonna do is lay down like a bunch of dogs? Exactly. Why do we *want* them to make the playoffs? Does it ever mean good things? Does it make us happy? No. It's like wanting to see your dog get run over.
  19. That is going to be a dang hard streak to keep up for another year or two. not really. chances are good we will get a lousy owner and never make the playoffs again, for like 25 years or so. its a shoe-in really. Better than getting demolished ever year in the playoffs. We're wasting a spot someone who wanted it could be using. We should have passed off to the Astros after Game 2.
  20. That is going to be a dang hard streak to keep up for another year or two.
  21. It would have been perfect. I hope it happens in the ninth to finish the season. Nothing would be better, accept maybe a Lee GIDP.
