Most people are forgetting to see the replay of the first two Blues' goals. LUCKY BOUNCES. Hawks deserve this game. Definitely. I hate conceding goals, but those first two were nothing to be upset about. Two lucky bounces, plus the first one was just a beautiful shot from MacDonald. But when it was 3-1 in the first, there was about a five-minute span where it looked like the Hawks might fall apart. But they pulled it together.
Why do we suck so badly at shootouts? Why? It doesn't make sense. This team is all about offensive talent and ten trillion spent on goalies. So many wasted points. This team is good enough to regret those later...
Awesome grinder goal, the fourth line just fighting to keep the puck in, throwing it at the net and getting a screen. This team looks so talented right now. It's wonderful to see a Hawks team that is capable of skating the puck into the zone on a consistent basis.
I guess I'll live with their maddening tendency to give up third-period goals, because they make up for it with their tendency to score more third-period goals.
We ...won...a shootout? Is that right? I can't even count how many points we've handed to divisional rivals with third-period defensive problems, though.
](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) Third-period defense is a big, big problem for this team. If they are going to make the playoffs in this conference, they have to tighten this up.
Have to hold on here. Road divisional regulation wins are big. I can live with 5-3-3 if they get there. And Kaner is going to score 100 points this season. Book it.
9 points in 9 games isn't horrific, but it's not a playoff pace. And this team is not playing like a playoff team. And I blame Tallon. We needed a true second center and got a mediocre goalie.
That's twice the Blackhawks have given away points in a divisional game with shoddy third-period defense and losing the shootout. The defense I understand, the problems scoring in shootouts I do not.
I feel like Cartman at the end of the chili episode. Their tears are so good... http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1008/NRSC_ad_assumes_Obama_win.html
