    I don't mean to get too far into the inside baseball here, but it seems like the Hawks beat guys are in the bag for the team. I know there's only a few of them and they aren't as tenacious as the baseball and football guys, but this is ridiculous. There's no injury. We all know there is no injury. But this line gets thrown in there. There was finally an article in the Trib today about the penalties leading to benchings, which should have been asked of Q after Tuesday's game and put into the game article. Kyle, any thoughts? Particularly, with how obedient beat guys need to be in light of their ongoing relationship and travel with the team? It's always a tough line, but I'm disappointed in that one. If the team wants to call it an injury, report that the team is calling it an injury. But you can't completely ignore the trade rumors. Ask the coach about them, and if he denies or gives no comment, report that too.

    I love talent goals. Toews keeps the puck away from the defense for several seconds with a couple guys on him, Eager makes the pass of his life and Kane puts a sniping wrister into the net. 1-1.

    Huet gives up huge rebounds. He's only good on a team that has the big defensive bodies to keep the front of the net clear. That's not the Hawks.

    I doubt he's really nonchalant; he's just a master of coachspeak. The Bears are learning a harsh lesson about the NFL: If you want to have a consistently elite defense, you must draft great defensive players *every single year*. The attrition rate is so high that you can't fall in love with the ones you have and sign them long-term.

    There will be plenty of time for that debate in the playoffs, which every team that had more losses than wins last season missed, regardless of how many of those losses were in overtime and shootouts.

    16 games, but yes. This team is definitely exciting. The jury is still out on whether they are actually good. They are good, they just have to finish games off in OT. Losing games because of a 4 on 4 goal or a SO doesn't mean you are a bad team. If you do it consistently enough, yes it does.

    Yes, just like all signs were pointing to Roberts becoming a Cub last year. One heavily reported and discussed rumor was wrong so now they all must be! I've enjoyed Ivan Rodriguez's years with the Cubs.
