  1. Yes, as long as TLR is there, I will be worried about them. But here we are talking about issues from last year that didn't get resolved. That bullpen is wretched again. Jason Motte's is Kyle Farnsworth minus 4 MPH. Fastball as straight as can be, and he can't keep it low.
  2. Leading off a game. Interestingly, his 50th was also his 100th leading off an inning.
  3. List of 4,000-yard QBs who were traded either at 25 and/or the offseason after a 4,000-yard performance who aren't Jay Cutler:
  4. When you adjust for the move from the AL East to the NL Central, Halladay drops three runs off his ERA from last season. (yes, I know that makes it negative)
  5. Working for me finally, after missing a few innings in the middle. I just keep reminding myself today is their highest server load of the year.
  6. LOL at Astros players celebrating play that increased their odds of losing the game.
  7. Exceptional question. Odds that it gets asked in the postgame?
  8. Yes that was a tough play. Yes, an MLB outfielder needs to make it.
  9. With two outs, take your chances on a bad throw. Better odds than getting another hit.
  10. Often enough that the risk multiplied by the lost value makes it worth losing half a dozen singles a year.
  11. Shut it Rozner Uhhh the thing is, he really did. Can't be pulling that crap with only a 2 run lead in your last at bat. I don't care if it's game 1 or game 141. The first time he pulls a hamstring running full-speed, he costs the team a lot more than an out. If a professional baseball player pulls a groin/hamstring from running to first base, he needs to get his ass in shape. Happens all the time. Especially to guys who have histories of nagging injuries.

  13. We lost 3 games blowing 22 run leads? That makes me glad we kept Prior in that Game 2 to protect the 10-run lead. (No. I will not let it go. Ever).
  14. Yeah its one game. Give him a couple weeks at least. He was swinging the bat decently the last week of Spring. He's got a .000 BABIP. He's due.
  15. Cueto and Volzquez are both going 120+ in their last starts. fixed
  16. Opening day is almost always the same day as the NCAA title game. I dont think thats true. Opening day is about a week later than normal this year. It's been true for at least several years. (and I think Opening Day is always first monday in April)
  17. then he'll drop bunts down the third base line everytime... When teams started pulling the huge lefty pull shift on Edmonds he started putting bunts down the third-base line and they quit. I never understood why Bonds didn't do that, but then I remembered his name is Barry Bonds. Because for the season he was having that done to him, a 75% bunt-single rate might been a decline in production.
  18. Sirott just did his one inning of PBP, and he's really terrible. If they ever interrupted the Pat and Ron show for an inning of play-by-play, we'd be able to compare. *ducks*
