  1. And if Cyno was here, he'd be sure to point out that the Hawks have taken at least two blatant high sticks that weren't called.
  2. Best start of the series in terms of quality of hockey. Both teams are ready to play.
  3. It can be done, it will just be a lot tougher. Agreed. They are a good enough team to overcome this, but it doesn't leave a lot of margin for error.
  4. If his is going to linger awhile, how much is left on his contract? Is it insured?
  5. Complete novice question: If I wanted to just show up at a driving range and start hitting, what all would I need in terms of equipment?
  6. Imagine what the multiple OT games feel like. by mid second OT, you almost don't care. you're just completely fried It takes me until the third, but there is definitely a point where you don't even care who wins, you just want it to be over.
  7. Still in a tough position with 2 of the next 3 in Vancouver, but that was a well-deserved win. Vancouver was playing to win 1-0 the last 25 minutes or so.
  8. Absolutely absurd that wasn't called. And I'm not just channeling Cyno here. Absolutely and totally [expletive]. Bull. [expletive]. Inexcusable. There was an awful high stick behind the play that was missed. On the break itself, it looked bad at full speed but on replay, I can see a no-call.
  9. Good luck. Way to lay an egg through 5 periods at home. Pretty pathetic. Sometimes, the other team makes you look bad. Vancouver deserves a lot of credit for this (not that the Hawks don't deserve blame if they can't adjust).
  10. Vancouver continues to be incredibly defensively sound.
  11. Baseball is better as a season, football is better as a game.
  12. Oh man. Nope, our defensemen don't have a defensive problem. Noo..... I get shouted down over at chicagoblackhawks.com every time I bring it up...
  13. That means he wants you to see a win right? *glances back at a history of Cubs and Bears playoff experiences* Umm...yeah?
  14. Thanks to the Big Guy Upstairs for sending some lightning strikes between games of the doubleheader I was covering, I'm back just in time to turn the stream on at work while I write.
  15. Your mistake is that you think there is some kind of platonic ideal of a double, that a ball hit into the gap means "double." It doesn't. A double is when you reach second base on a cleanly-fielded batted ball without being out. Your analogy for the pitcher doesn't work, because he fulfilled the obligations for a strike, whereas the batter has not fulfilled the obligations for a double. Crediting the batter with a double would be like having the pitcher hurt his arm so the pitch comes in at 55 mph and gets crushed, but calling the batter out because the pitcher would have thrown a much better pitch if he hadn't gotten hurt.
  16. as old as Farve is, that is an impossible stance to take It's not completely impossible, given the receivers, offensive line and running backs he will have. But even given all that, I'd take the under on it.
  17. Since Cutler has become a starter.. Cutler - 45 turnovers in 1220 pass attempts Favre - 47 turnovers in 1257 pass attempts And this is with a so called "injury prone, to old decling Favre". Example No. 1,523,773 why simple statistical analysis is inaccurate in pro football.
  18. It's possible that he was using PEDs *and* he only failed this test because of a prescription from his doctor he failed to check properly. If I had to guess, I'd say both are true.
  19. But if it's women's basketball, and you are one point away from a career scoring record and get hurt, you get it anyway.
  20. If the coaching staff is smart enough to only throw 20 times a game, and Favre is healthy, then I'll agree he makes them better. I don't believe either of those are likely to be true.
  21. Exactly. People keep saying "Well, he's better than Jackson or Rosenfels." That's probably true. But with those guys, you don't feel the pressure to keep throwing all the time. When Favre is on your team, he's going to throw, and he's going to throw a lot of bad picks. And alot of TD's. Brett Favre before he got hurt. Entering Week 12. 65% comp perc. 20 TDS/12 INT 8-3 team record He won't throw all the time with Minnesota like he did with New York. He will also have the best RB in the league to hand if off to. Berrian, Rice and Harvin will be a nice group to throw to. Also Minnesota has one of the best D's in the league. Favre makes the Vikings a Superbowl contender. Cherrypicking endpoints. And you can't discount when a QB his age gets hurt. He's likely to be playing hurt a lot.
  22. I really wish we could go back then and trade Deng when his value was sky high. I think we could have gotten a superstar for him and an expiring after 06-07. Then you probably wouldn't have Rose.
