  1. Exactly. People keep saying "Well, he's better than Jackson or Rosenfels." That's probably true. But with those guys, you don't feel the pressure to keep throwing all the time. When Favre is on your team, he's going to throw, and he's going to throw a lot of bad picks.
  2. as Sandberg said, "the name on the front is a lot more important than the name on the back" Screw principle, if you can help the team by taking a suspension when it wouldnt matter instead of possibly taking one when it would, you do it. Sandberg was scared to get either name dirty. *ducks*
  3. Really? What else is he going to do? He's getting paid a ridiculous amount of money, has already made millions, and all he is doing is rehabbing a shoulder injury that probably isn't even painful on a daily basis unless he's trying to throw a baseball. I'm not negative on the guy, but I don't admire him for doing what he's doing. It's hard to continue on in the face of that much failure. He's already made his millions, he could probably get into coaching at a lower level fairly easily.
  4. Hurry before they notice and change it: http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=291618 Spoiler in case they do change it:
  5. Being too awesome. fyp imb-style since he's not here to say it for himself
  6. Thatt's the problem, ain't it? Each game this series the Hawks trail by the minimum over at least two goals. I'm just hoping the can keep Vancouver off the board in the 1st period. I hate turning on the game and the Canucks are already up 2-0 or 3-0, which seems to be the case each game of this series. This slow start crap has to stop. They consistently fell behind for the first four games of the Calgary series, too, then came out flying in 5 and 6.
  7. You have to have a shooting lane. Vancouver's PK is brilliant at taking them away.
  8. Damn good blocked shots IMO... Luongo has faced some mean saves but for the most part, Haawks can't get a decent shot on him because of the defense. And breaking up passing lanes. The Hawks' closest chance to a goal on a centering pass was when a Vancouver player deflected it into the crossbar.
  9. Vancouver has earned this game with excellent defensive play. It's tempting to say the Hawks were bad, but Vancouver *made* them bad.
  10. Either the Blackhawks have an amazing period or Vancouver takes a strong advantage in the series. We'll see.
  11. Did you see Burrows get a stick in the face on the way out? I'd call that getting even :)
  12. As far as our awful first periods go, that was one of our better ones.
  13. Easy Cyno Jr. That was an awful call. Byfuglien was pushed into the goalie.
  14. You get a hit for reaching base, not for how you hit the ball. I can't imagine why there'd be a rule giving you a free base.
  15. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/chi-05-hawks-bits-chicagomay05,0,7477135.story Blackhawks have no excuse not to win the game then.
  16. Is Salo out for any length of time? That'd make me change my mind about the series.
  17. That explanation doesn't make a ton of sense to me, unless Hendry thought he'd have no chance to dump DeRosa before the season starts. Being overbudget in the offseason doesn't cost you a dime, the paychecks aren't coming yet.
  18. If you want to go with the "you never played" thing, why would you go to an Xs and Os question. Us nerds are all about the Xs and Os. He should have said something like "I bet you don't even know what it's like to be in a locker room during the break between periods and know you are going to win" or something like that.
  19. Exactly. Huge, huge win. If you put a gun to my head or my life savings on the line, I still like the Canucks as a slight favorite, but the Hawks definitely have a chance.
  20. Refs have lost control of the game and are just throwing out penalties at random to try to get it back.
  21. I love skill goals. I know many hockey fans love the "screen in front of the net, jam home a rebound or get a tip" gind goal, but to me, skating around the guy, making a pass and leaving the goalie with no chance is just demoralizing to the other team.
  22. If the blown leads start to get into Vancouver's head, then I'll reverse my opinion that they are the better team.
  23. Mirror image of the Canucks' 5-on-3 goal.
