    In 'n Out burgers were good, don't get me wrong. They were very good. But I spent years reading breathless descriptions from Westerners about this nearly mythical burger joint with the greatest burger in history. Then I went there, and all I got was an above-average fast-food burger.

    Yes, he is that much better. And two bad games aren't enough to put in a guy who hasn't played in two weeks, either. You don't just switch goalies on a whim in the playoffs. And no, in the middle of the playoffs, especially in the middle of a closely contested series, you do not seriously consider changing goalies just to give the guy with a longer contract more experience.

    When we look back on why the promising young crop of Hawks never quite made it to Cup-winning level, never caught up with Detroit, I'm going to point to two bad signings: Campbell and Huet. Good players, but bad fits for this team and way too much money.

    What's the point of sticking with him? He's the better of the two goalies and you are in a 2-2 playoff series. That trumps everything about potential and contracts and whatnot. And he hasn't done "nothing" in the postseason. Stole game 1, solid in game 2.

    At that point though, you're just giving Huet a chance to have his only playoff appearance being the elimination game. And? Khabibulin is the better goalie, and he gets more than two bad road games before you yank him for a completely cold goalie.

    Khabibulin flat-out stole game 1 from Calgary. He was good in game 2, awful in game 3, and didn't do anything positive in game 4. I'll give him one more home game, but if we're down 3-2, then I go to Huet.

    100% agreed. They were standing around and letting the Flames fire at will for four or five minutes before the fifth goal, focusing on blocking the shots. You know what's a really good defense? Controlling the puck 180 feet away from your goal. They knew this in the third period of game 2, and forgot it tonight.

    Sucks knowing we'll get DESTROYED against the Sharks or Wings... we have to play one of them. We've pretty much know that all season.

    Best of 3 series, two in Chicago. I still think we have the advantage here. It'd just be nice if Khabibulin shows up.

    None of them were really, really soft or anything, but at some point your huge-money, Cup-winning, veteran goaltender needs to make a big save or two, and he just hasn't done it.

    On the road when it only ties the series, this isn't demoralizing.

    Flames earned that one. Hawks were very impressed with their ability to block shots in the zone, they might have thought of maybe getting the puck in your own zone and developing a sustained attack once in a while.

    I hate the whole "flames spend 35 seconds in our zone, we finally control it, try the HR pass, fail, give them the puck for another prolonged attack" thing. Skate, you melon farmers. That's what you are paid to do.

    Have we learned our lesson about putting mediocre offensive threats on the power play to start? That was the worst PP I've seen in a long, long while.

    Did Barker really mess up? Sometimes the puck just rolls on you, nothing you can do about it. I'm more annoyed with Khabibulin on the fourth goal. That was awful.

    Momentum's a funny thing in hockey. It's easy to see a fluky rolling puck on a defensemen, a perfect shot on a breakaway that the player couldn't hit again in a dozen tries, a fluky bounce on a puck in front of the net, and assume that the benefitting team is destroying the other one. For example, I still say the Blackhawks looked much better in the third period of game 2 (when it was 0-0 for the period) than in the second (when they outscored Calgary 3-0).

    Funny how good a team looks when a couple bounces go their way and turn into goals.

    Seriously, I mean it. The two-line breakaway pass *only* works if they aren't expecting it. It's like the @#$#@ wide receiver screen. They are expecting it, they are defending it, let it go.

    The Blackhawks haven't looked any worse now than the Flames did in periods 2 and 3 of game 2. The Hawks looked utterly dominant for those two periods, especially the third where the Flames had no chance to generate any sort of offense. And they they lay two eggs in Calgary. So why are we so sure Calgary can transfer this momentum to the road?

    And they looked awful against us, and now they don't. It's almost as if you can't assume everything based on a little momentum.

    Versteeg is in the lineup? Wouldn't have known till just now.

    Call me when Calgary wins a road game, which they sort of have to do. Because they had no chance in either of those 2 games right? And the Blackhawks have no chance in game 6?
