  1. No, it isn't. Physics lesson needed. 4-1. 230 lbs vs. 180 lbs... 230 lbs has momentum and initiates the elbow/stick contact. All they know how to do is use their legs to throw the hit and it's over. Physics lesson over? No. Compare the skating speed of your beer league buddies with an NHL player, then check out what happens to velocity in the force equation. BTW, aren't we supposed to go three-deep on scoring lines. Does anyone besides our big 3 want to produce some offense?

  3. Well, as long as you have a perfectly good reason for calling a grown man you don't know a liar....
  4. He plays 70-90 games a year with guys who have 50 pounds on him and know it. He's tougher than you could imagine. And in the regular season, he was not getting hit like the guys are right now. And like he did the other night. And what happened when he did get hit? He started carving guys' faces up. BS. He gets hit every night. He's got a target on his back every game.
  5. He plays 70-90 games a year with guys who have 50 pounds on him and know it. He's tougher than you could imagine. Not like I didn't play with the same weight difference... wasn't even close to the NHL but a 230 LB guy crashing into you in the boards hurts no matter what. Well, you are right that it isn't close. Or comparable.

  7. That's really, really exagerating it. Now the Flames have to hold on for 20 minutes just to be down 2-1 with two road games still on the table for them. i think this series has been a lot closer than people here are acting like. the hawks are 2-0 but its been pretty evenly played throughout, and the flames are outplaying them tonight. they win this one and theyre one home win away from tying it and taking all the momentum Just like the Blackhawks didn't have momentum for their two close-played wins, Calgary doesn't get any for a close-played win tonight. IF Calgary can hold on for 20 more minutes and IF they win game 4, they are still in a best of 3 with two games in a building they are 0-4 in. They need two ifs to go there way just to get to the status of small underdog.
  8. Yes, Brouwer just got high-sticked in the same spot Campbell got away with one. Maybe there's a special ref blind spot there.

  10. Toews came a lot closer to scoring on that quick 2-on-1 than I thought.
  11. Kiprusoff has made things a lot harder on himself than they should be. He's looked shaky.
  12. It's a coinflip. Maybe 60% Hawks/40% Flames just because Kiprusoff keeps having to bail himself out.
  13. This game will turn on one good bounce for one team. I'm really glad we're up 2-0 and can afford it. Why is Brouwer getting PP time?
  14. Woohooo! PP penalty. Experience paying off for Calgary again.
  15. Hawks had the best chance of that 2 minutes.
  16. What a play by Burish! I think he just killed 20 seconds by himself.
  17. Good lord, are we done arguing about complaining about the refs yet?
  18. Flames pinned us back for a few minutes there, but now our D is starting to hit the breakout. That's the key to the entire series, imo, our breakout.
  19. Honestly, I thought the TSN announcers were slurping the Hawks pretty hard that period, first time in the series. He compared Seabrook to Ray Bourque, for goodness sake.
  20. It's one thing to scrum after the whistle, standing around and shoving and jawing. It's another thing to start throwing punches and crosschecks, which the Flames were definitely doing in game 1 and to a lesser degree in the last two games. But it's already cost them one penalty (and a PP) goal tonight, I don't know how much more people want.
  21. Well, anyone who had doubts about whether the Blackhawks could play in Calgary can be calmed. They looked very good (though unfortunately, so did the Flames).
  22. Kiprusoff's only going to get away with diving out of his crease so many times.
  23. Never mind. Awesome! Lots and lots of PP time, plz.
