great pics. at the polo grounds, what are the extra lines in foul territory for, parallel with the 1st and 3rd base lines? i wonder if they limit field of play, given the HUGE foul territory. quite a hike from the dugout to the field.
not to nickpick, but the highlights i've seen showed a lot of favorable calls with 3 ball counts. still impressive though. the same home plate ump called his last no-no.
iirc last year he had guys jump ahead of him in the rotation to give extra time off. how come that approach hasnt been tried yet? i'm anxious to see how he does with extra rest before i would recommend a full shutdown or DL stint.
are PTBNL's assigned by PAs/ABs/games played like FA contracts, or can they be chosen based on performance? he certainly will get plenty of playing time in STL.
umm oberon............... carp vs harang in a few minutes. i guess i'm stuck following that. sucks that the cubs will be up late with this game with a game tomorrow. getaway days should have day games.
yeah lohse was leaving everything high for an inning or so. then he had to slide to get a bunt. nothing catastrophic. now boyer, who sucks, may have to throw a couple of innings.
