    Soriano will not sign an extension unless it's 12-14 million per year. I just don't see him worth that kind of money. Say no to Alphonso.

    It all depends on the policy and usually players have to miss entire seasons for the team to collect. It's not likely the Cubs have collected anything on the players hurt this year.

    Larry Bowa is a definite no. He was entertaining to listen to as a co-host of baseball this morning on XM, but I remember him emphatically saying he'd never read a book like "Moneyball" because there's nothing "those guys" could teach him. His views are too much like Joe Morgan for my liking. I want someone with a little more of an open mind.

    A realistic offer for Cabrera will begin with two of Marshall, Pie, Guzman, and Marmol. It would start there. Then the Marlins would likely insist on Gallagher and/or Paweleck. They'd probably ask for Moore and another player as well.

    According to Stark, Soriano envisions himself as a 12-14 million dollar a year player. Anyone trading for him would have to pay him that to extend him or it's going to be a rental. This team doesn't need to be acquiring rental property with the way this season is going.

    The NBA suspensions are even more BS than half the ones handed down by MLB. There's no consistency and it's just stupid.

    It was a fun game. Greenberg went 2-4 with a homerun. I got to speak to him before the game and he's hitting pretty good for the Suns right now. As far as autographs, I got Hu and Abreu. And I also got an autograph of former major leaguer, Danny Darwin. My nephew had a ball signed by about 15 of the Suns and caught a foul ball off the bat of Salty. It was a fun night.

    I figure it would cost the Cubs Marshall, Dopirak, and Gallagher at the very least. That could be a little steep a price to pay.

    It's never bad to hit Pierzynski. He should be hit at least once per game. As for the rookie pitcher, I wish he had picked up a ball and beaned Guillen.

    Either that or you were unhappy with the quality of potential autographs and called it off. Nah...I've already gotten Salty's auto though. I want to be able to take my nephew, and I haven't worked out a good time. When I went to see the DJaxx, it was during school and since it's about 90 miles away, he would've gotten home too late.

    Thanks for the help. It looks like that right now, I'm not going. My nephew has BP for his all-star team and I was only going to take him.
