why do we hate Pie?? Maybe because we had an over-rated "five tool" center fielder that disapinted us in the recent past, and he has shown the same consistancy as that gentleman who is nopw in Baltimore.

corkie does not = steriod user obviously you and derwood don't know wood species, that wasn't cork in that but but an anomaly that can occur in ash and sometimes maple when the corkasorius worm, which is indiginous to the Dominican Republic, invades the wood. So you can't blame Sammy :roll:

Manager Lou Piniella, who called Fukudome a cross between Ichiro Suzuki and Hideki Matsui, said last week he expected to bat the new Cub fourth or fifth in the order. Wow. I didn't think he had enough power to bat 4th. I always thought he was a leadoff or #2 guy. Just like OBP isnt the ONLY important thing out of a leadoff hitter, power isnt the ONLY important thing out of a middle of the order hitter. Also, while he doesn't have HR power, he definitely has great doubles power and will probably lead the team or be very close to the lead in 2bs. But it sure would be nice to have his OBP at the top of the order instead of a 330. Yeah I was thinking Roberts and Fukedome at the top too. I wonder if Soriano has made noise about being moved off the leadoff spot? Do you think the Cubs should actually obtain Roberts before everyone starts to pencil him into the lineup? That's why it's in pencil, you can erase it. I am hoping the Cubs use that eraser on the lineup card and get soriano out of that leadoff spot. Why would he complain?

At the time, Lugo was much better than Maddux. Not even a question. Hendrickson was better than Maddux that year. Dessens was more of a way to get rid of Perez. Argue who was better all you wish. I don't care about that. Trading Maddux for Izturis was absolutely stupid. hat fact will never be argued by anyone on this board.

As I understood it, the Cubs were not among the teams offering 2 years although I might have misunderstood. excellent dec ision on both parts. Wood isn't locked down and can get bigger bucks if he actually stays healthy and if he doesn't the Cubs can say goodbye. I am not a Wood fan, but he did have an impressive finish. Let's see if he can have an impressive start to finish now.

I am going to cut him a break, if you visited the project 300 website this summer Jada was going through a lot of tests and being flown around the country for these test, a bit distracting for a father. The wrist, not a solid excuse but toward the end of the year he started hitting that inside pitch like he use to do in 2006. It will be there next year
