  1. Michael Myers feels left out.. It is the "Bruce Weber Thread" of the transaction forum. We should combine it with Lieber because with Liever's signing it will now be ok to get rid of Marshal and Gallager for Roberts.
  2. it kind of is when you could get equal production for 10% of the cost by giving the job to gallagher. the lieber signing alone isn't going to break the cubs. it doesn't really improve them either. but you combine lieber's 3.5 million with dempster's 5 million, marquis' 6 million, eyre's 4 million, and blanco's 3 million that's around 21-22 million that could be easily replaced by cheaper players and spent on 1 or 2 very good players. jon lieber was a pointless signing. it wasn't a horrible signing that's going to cost the cubs the season, but it's jim hendry's usual pointless signing done for the sole purpose that he doesn't trust rookies to fill less-important jobs. How could you know that? You know, I could get a good look at a T-Bone steak by sticking my head up a bulls ass, but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word?[/quote] I love that line!!! May i use it in the future. It is not copyright protected is it?
  3. I am expecting most of us posting independent and then depend on the issue.
  4. Easy, a simple matter of demographics for NSBB. I could have put independent leaning toward liberal or conservative but that would put us in the "depends' category.
  5. I used to play with Puma Cup Trinomics, but that was a very long time ago. No idea what's on the market these days. this is a bunch of old fart playing competitively, most just wear there Nikes. I would rather not use my running shoes for soccer. If you hear of anything. I know I'll be on the look out for what the yng guns are wearing , Thanks What kind of court/field are you playing on? Knowing that would help us give you advice. he'd rather just talk down to everyone in the thread than, you know, give information that would allow you to actually help him You got to understand, last time I did ask for help coaching soccer, because I was a new soccer coach I was given no response. I originally thought the thread was to promote soccer seemed to only cater to the elite fans, unfortunately it left a sour taste. As we know there are positive and negative people in everything we do and every thread that we start. For you that helped thank you.
  6. As Vance suggested, go buy a pair of Sambas. You probably aren't going to be playing at a high enough level to need anything better anyway. Thank you, any and all advice will help and is appreciated.
  7. Oooo-kay... I guess my reply doesn't count. Neither does Seth's. So, then, what the hell kind of field do you play on? It makes a difference because every field is different and I know I don't want to suggest something that be less than effective for your particular field. Also, what do you want to spend on them? There are a lot of really expensive shoes out there, but you can probably get something that works well cheaper. The field we play on for indoor is an indoor field turf playing surface, but there are only a smattering of the rubber pellets since the field is older with integrated cushioning and made to roll-up quickly. Permanent fields/expensive fields tend to have a deeper, softer surface which may require cleats. (I wear cleats on our outdoor field, for example.) I play keeper for our team indoors, so cutting is less important in any case. I wear a pair of Puma Vencidas. They cost about $50-60. http://www.gameon24-7.com/notsoccer/assets/product_images/PAAAIAKFHPGMFCDA.jpg By the way, I've been actively playing in multiple leagues that run year-round. I played an outdoor game this morning, and I have an indoor game tonight. What about you? Our team -- basically a coed football club -- plays in three indoor leagues per week, plus an outdoor league. The average age of a player on the team is about 30, I'd say. We're hardly elite. Thanks I check them out. I coach my little one for the last cpl of years, have probably had an interest for years but like it was suggested by another poster the good old days we only played soccer in gym as a "this is what they do overseas activity." The team is fairly new and organized by a guy in the school district. I have been told if we enjoy this experience we will be stay together for outdoor. I have noticed at least from my daughter that the ball spins incredibly indoors, any suggestion on how to play that spin so you can control it better.

Knowing that would help us give you advice. I know it is advertised as being the same turf as on Dallas Cowboy football field. Does that help?
  9. My wife and kids would really go nuts if that was in my contract

  11. thanks for the help. Either people don't know what to recommend for indoor soccer shoes or it is one of those threads where you can talk a good game but you haven't played in a while. The last option is this thread is just for "elite" soccer fan and not for the ordinary soccer participant. So let's try this again what would be ideal shoes to play indoor scoocer
  12. Jacksonville has been around for 13 years now; they are hardly an "expansion team." Seattle to me is an expansion team, that is why I hated the cubs losing in 69 to an expansion team
  13. Now that I am done looking at the pics what was this thread about?? Go Jaguars, first time ever I routed for an expansion team. Just so I can throw it back in Derwood's faces
  14. anybody else play in a men league (indoor), just got invited to participate with a group of other old farts, I was the best in shape at 47 and our yngest two are 29 and way over weight (good for them though trying to get back in shape) Any suggestion for indoor shoes?
  15. His presence could also very easily undermine her presidency. I have a hard time believing that Bill Clinton is going to sit in the backround and stay out of his wife's way. Regardless, there will always be questions about how much influence he has over policy decisions. Again, I don't think this would be a bad thing. If Bill Clinton ran again right now, he'd win easily. Aside from far-right nut jobs who consider tomcatting around to be a worse offense than flushing your country down the toilet, most still respect him for the job he did running the nation. No sane person can honestly say they prefer things now to the way they were 10 years ago. Will Hillary's election turn back the clock? Probably not, but people will associate Bill and Hillary with better times, and for good reason (remember when the biggest worry the country had was Bill's sex life?). And as petty as that sounds, it will make a difference. People are fickle, and are swayed by their feelings and perceptions more often than not. I also think he would be a great diplomatic asset. Having maybe the most internationally liked and respected U.S. ex-president as the first husband has to be a net benefit. History won't be nearly as kind to Bill Clinton as Democrats would like. He didn't create the tech boom/bubble and the resultant huge windfall in capital gains taxes and he didn't cause the collapse of communism and the resultant peace dividend. China and India were still years away from being the oil-swilling job-stealing economic behemoths they are now, the Euro was not yet a strong competitor for the dollar, and nobody had heard of bin Laden. The 90's presented easily the single most favorable set of circumstances any president has had since the 1920's. All Clinton had to do was not screw it up. I'll give him credit for that. By contrast, Bush has been dealt some horrible cards, but he's found ways to make bad situations worse than they needed to be, so I'll say Clinton was a better president, but Clinton was also a much much luckier president. Exactly, good post.
  16. also aloha gesture and the I love you gesture or he was signaling third down and had a cramp in his hand or it is the GPA he'll never get
  17. A statement from himself (not his lawyer) the day the Mitchell report came out would have been a good start instead we get a press release from his agent several days later. Sometimes people listen to bad advice. ie Ted Kennedy and his whole career
  18. where is Jac Jone!!!! I am outraged :x How dare they keep him off that list he cut his spiking the down into the grass by half this year.
  19. this off season is like watching paint dry
  20. No, what was happening is every word in my posts is being dissected as if I'm some sort of scientific lab experiment and I'm tired of it. I really haven't found it necessary to spend 3 pages in this thread defending my stance that Roberts is a marginal upgrade to DeRosa. I'd also point out that I have been a defender of this deal since day 1. Not only have I said Roberts is a marginal upgrade over DeRosa, but that DeRosa's use as a bench player, pinch hitter and SS are all have the potential to be significant upgrades, making the addition of Roberts to this team SIGNIFICANT. Agree 100 percent. the key to the cubs success is Derosa's versatility and Robert's affords the opportunity
  21. I like Len and Bob as a team they have pretty good chemistry.
  22. Obama will come back a little after the bounce but still will easily win this state, let's just hope the bounce is over
  23. got to agree with that one with stoney coming in a close second me
  24. How many people jumped on the Pats bandwagon all of a sudden?? I bet if the Colts win the new poll will be how many superbowls will the colts win in a row? [-( I refuse to jump on this bandwagon and will stick with my Cleveland Browns. Mac and Byner aren't they still playing?
