  1. The tenor of this thread sounds like the honey moon is over for you Lou. Start ducking
  2. It pays being a major league pitcher in more than one way. this is coming from a guy who got someone way over my head also.
  3. Lieber pitches like he did tyhe other day it will be a lock. With the statements from Marquis, though Lou seems to have brushed it off, I think Jim might be quietly shopping this potential clubhouse mess. The nice part about this pitching staff is that we have tons of trade bait.
  4. with those two it should be a debate 7 or 8 right now.
  5. second is the place for him but in an emergency I can even see him hitting leadoff
  6. Remember that cory is a "5 tool player" according to all of us a couple of years ago. Too bad those tools were pretty dull
  7. I saw that I thought it was Truffle posting with his disdain for the older population. I can't believe I am saying this but Wood has seem to finally matured and looks a lot more confident. 98 mph is showing a heck of a lot of talent, along with his other pitches. I give Marmol his due but I see him as one more year and more more pitch away from that position. If he would have been a kid with a background as a pitcher I think he would be ready now. It has also worked out to his advantage as far as injuries to that arm. Good to be in this delema There are loads of effective relievers with only two good pitches, I think Marmol should get the nod, the only disaster that could come of this is if Lou chooses Howry. I just want Marmol to get a little bit more confident with the two he has. I am not advocating Howery but at times last year he was perfect for that situation, such as throwing well in the 8th and keeping his momentum in the ninth giving the other a rest.

  9. I don't buy this "O's are holding all the cards" theory you seemed to believe. Between DeRosa/EPatt and Fontenot, I pretty sure 2B will NOT be an issue for the Cubs. If the Cubs didn't have a legit 2B on their roster or in camp, I would buy it, but considering the presence of DeRosa (specifically) and Patterson/Fontenot, I would say the Cubs have as much leverage in this deal as the O's. Which is why, I believe that while Hendry is prolly frustrated at the lack of progress in the talks, that doesn't mean he will rush into blindly. I think nobody will accuse either sid of "rushing" at this point.
  10. the collection is great but a little scary kind of reminds me of Kathy Bates in Stephen Kings "Misery"
  11. Esp. after sun. outing finishing with that last pitch was nasty!!!
  12. Petrick is on the 40 man roster, so for him to be sent back to the minor leagues he has to use up one of his options. The rest are non-roster invitees, so they can just get assigned back to the minor league camp. OK, but why does he have to actually go to Iowa right now? Why can't he use an option and just go to minor league camp in sunny, warm AZ??? he doesn't go to Iowa, he stays in AZ at the MiL camp did we change trp AAA affiliates? I thought it was Pittsburg?
  13. The first guy was me ion little league but chicks dig the long ball
  14. If you fram this question for super tues. many rep. in TX are voting Hillary
  15. Billy was my all-time fav. Cub growing up. It is amazing to see Sammy having a better offensive career. Defensively Billy was better over all Kiki though
  16. This is freakin Texas they only put Ranch on the salad even if oil is already on.
  17. definetly don't disagree but it the late in the game, the drain is clogged and the level is up a foot.
  18. Whoooooo Nelly there partner, We haven't had the first WGN broadcast yet, you know the one where Bob explains the trickiness of AZ sun in early spring.
  19. That is pretty detailed info you have on Wrigley, like you have some kind of insider info. Can you tell me why then they haven't updated the urinals in the men's bathroom at Wrigley.
  20. Did we lose the "Grit Algorithm" formula? If that is what happened then just compare him on the P-Rose comparison chart
  21. He always has a good first half, trade him in late June while he has a winning record and his value is up
  22. =D> Yay, Lou! that's because we were missing the #1 bunter in History-Neifi!!!!
  23. Does this dethrone Dempter as lead comic?
  24. I am sure the Yankees are groaning, they are the only team to lose to the DRays.
  25. I feel a long post coming from one of our stat. boys about the non-benefits of stealing bases.
