He was actually good last year. This shouldn't be all that surprising. Well part of the problem about last year is that he was good when we were already out of it and it didn't matter. Maybe he's found a way to recapture that mentality he had when winning and losing was not on the line. -
That's too bad, sample size or not he had a knack for knowing his role and performing well in that limited role. Hopefully when we add Griffey, Floyd will slide in nicely to Ward's role.

No it doesn't. Not for Cubs fans living around obnoxious Cards fans who seem to make a smart a#* remark about Wood or Prior everytime the Cubs come up in conversation. I'm openly excited about this and not assamed of that one bit. Especially after reading TT's post about how they have $30 million guaranteed next year to basically deadweight. -
Not really. It doesn't matter how many times a player goes up and down during the year, it's still just one option. Can we get a sticky explaining how options work? Because it seems to be one of the most misunderstood concepts on this board.

Isn't it broke against LHP? I have to add that I'm not really in love with the fact that Lou comes up with an idea, implements it for all of two games, and then feels he has seen enough to can it. I don't think it matters all that much in this case, though. You're right. I couldn't agree more. I'd much rather go back to the days of trotting out Jason Bere or Glendon Rusch or Neifi Perez or Remlinger as a LOOGY for the whole season in spite of bad outings... the only we can know is to let it run its course over a season... sample size, dude.

Except simply sending Gallagher down doesn't open a spot for Fox on the 40-man. They're going to need to create openings on both the 40- and the 25-man rosters. Has Gallagher's dad heard anything regarding Sean staying up or going down?

Something to consider here is that if you DFA and lose Hill then you are short another catcher. Then what happens if a combination of the following happen Blanco can't come back or does and can't make a go of it, Soto gets hurt, Kendall get hurt? Soto going down is the safer option that ensures we keep 4 catchers available, in theory, to be called up to the majors.

Not that my opinion matters to them...but I think its such BS that Reinsdorf (or any other owner) has any say at all in who Zell/the Trib sells the Cubs to...its downright unAmerican. If its not unAmerican, its at least a Conflict of Interest and Collusion. Perhaps even a Breach of Fiduciary Duty to the Chicago Cubs fan base... I know we have a few law students here that could serve as my law clerks for this class action suit. :wink:

Does anyone really believe Cuban stands a chance in h*ll? I wish he had a fair shot, but am highly dubious of the the old boys club headed by Selig.. No chace in hell will he ever own a MLB team. Will never ever happen. If Marge Schott had a team for so long they can learn to live with Mark Cuban.
