  1. All this going on throughout the day and I have to listen to T.I. on Sportscenter or watch a relatively meaningless game on ESPN2. Argh.
  2. A lot of catchers will do that when they think the hitter is trying to steal location.
  3. How many years in a row are they trying to make sure that they have a top 3 draft pick?
  4. Lohse has had a decent past month... I even picked him up for his scheduled start tomorrow against the Nats (and only b/c it was against the Nats) in my deep fantasy league. I will now have to drop him before he faces the Cubs. Any word on if we are going to face him?
  5. That would be so great of a trade that I'm refusing to consider it right now.
  6. he is a very good player. that would be a nice pickup I agree... he could play Right against lefties and backup 1st and also provide some power off the bench which we don't have. However, he would become useless to one of my fantasy teams... yes, it's a deep league.
  7. yes, but a player intentionally performing poorly for money on the biggest stage is not in the vein of Pete Rose, Ty Cobb or whatever other lowlife you want to throw in there. I agree that a player's actions off the field should not be considered, unless they do something like bomb the Statue of Liberty or turn into Ted Bundy. But I'm judging Ciccotte and Jackson as not worthy for the Hall because of their actions on the field - namely, throwing games for money on the sport's biggest stage. That, to me, is inexcusable. That's a pretty ignorant statement of the facts. Look up Shoeless Joe's stats from that series. If he was throwing anything, I'd hate to see the numbers he'd put up trying. Pete is not getting in until Shoeless Joe does. And that won't happen until after Pete's dead. I think the punishment will last his lifetime.
  8. I don't see why you'd make the condescending remark. It would make complete sense to move him to RF. Hell, he should be in RF now. You act as though almost every other OF doesn't play the OF positions interchangeably (and, much of the time, far more out of place than Sori would be in RF). Really? Well do you make the decisions for the team? Do you have personal knowledge of Soriano's disposition? Does a Reds fan or one of his sources? The fact is our manager.... the guy actually filling out the lineup cards is keeping Soriano in LEFTFIELD. Why waste time on discussing any move of Soriano? Why not stay within that reality-based framework? Maybe Soriano is just one of those finicky players who needs to be comfortable to produce, I dont know. What I do know is that he's NOT moving, until Lou says otherwise. And, therefore, any discussion of him moving (which seems to occur in a lot of these threads) is fantasy land talk... ie something you can go do in a video game.
  9. I'd put Soriano in RF. Well go buy a ps3 and buy one of the baseball games... I'm sure he'd do well in RF there.
  10. That one guy who thinks everyone is guilty is ridiculous... why must the extreme viewpoints get the most airtime?
  11. No I refuse to listen to that idiot too.
  12. Quit that... you and all of your "reality" bringing everyone down from their own wonderful make-believe world.
  13. Granted... but DLee didn't do it with his elbow/forearm to someone's face. If were going with 03 references it'd be more like Robert Fick joining the Cubs.
  14. You've seen Pena play defense right? That was called sarcasm by bhogg.
  15. Don't you have a wife and a kid? http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/neglect If you'd find some personality, you might be able to have one too. You mean the daughter I never see b/c I'm too busy posting 30,000+ times? I think this exchange is grounds for dismissal. Why do people who relatively just joined this site think they can come and do what they want and disrespect the people who have been here from the beginning and have done a lot to make the board what it is today? And BTW Rich... you do realize that we can see that you post around 15 times per day... which is, relatively, not too far behind the pace that Vance has been going at since early 04.
  16. What do we need another SP for? Every single one has done his job. Looking into a Playoff Rotation are you comfortable with anyone we have as our #3 starter. Zambrano is great, Lilly is solid, but after that I am little uncertain. Hill could easily run away with it with a solid August and September, but right now its anyone guess. I wouldn't pay a lot for another reliever unless the Reds demand Marshall in the Griffey or Dunn trades. Otherwise I'm fine with a Z, Lilly, Hill for the top three and then if Hill shows any sign of struggling, you've got Marquis and Marshall available in the pen. I'd say any of those three would be dependable for three innings or so. If we got a starter handed to us on a silver platter, though, I'd definitely be very interested. :D Won't happen... doesn't look like any good ones are going to be available. Mike Maroth just might be one of the best SP's dealt this year. What we have is better than what's going to be better.
  17. where did you get that picture in your sig? I want that shirt.
  18. I love how winning brings back all the posters... next thing you know JC is going to be starting threads. I've been busy with work and school, but I appreciate being labeled a bandwagoner after following this team for 2 decades. I'll stand with you GC. I think it's pretty funny for anyone to call you a bandwagoner, GC, given that you were one of the first 10-20 posters on the site, and were a regular on cubs.com before that. Points to response above... I meant it in a positive way.

Wasn't my intention to call anyone a bandwagoner, just commenting on how I genuinely like the excitement and attention that comes with winning.
  20. Its Angel Hernandez, the Queen of the Douches.

  22. No thanks. If the Cubs already have Carlos up and warm... They already did that yesterday. Anyone wanna give PBP since Yahoo has just gone mentally challenged and my work blocks gameday.
