  1. He showed us something alright. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
  2. Let's see if Rex is good for a miracle.
  3. Agreed. Brady doesn't need to do much to see to that.
  4. Exactly. Remember, Big Z could be lurking...
  5. KC will beat Denver tonight and Atlanta will wake up again and beat New Orleans.
  6. I really cant argue with the rankings because I personally feel we would lose to the Colts and Chargers if we played them this Sunday. Why do you think that? The Colts just got beat by a team worse than us, and SD has 2 losses. I've always thought SD belonged in the top 3 or 4 teams in the league. They've definitely been pretty underrated until recently. As far as your logic goes, the Bears got beat by a team that's worse than the team that beat the Colts, and just by virtue of playing in the AFC, SD's schedule has been tougher than the Bears' to this point. Of course, if the Bears take this one in NE, there's no room left to dispute them, but I don't think it's unfair to place those two teams ahead of Chicago, at least until Monday :)
  7. The Chargers are definitely a top team, but it's interesting how ESPN's power rankings cite their big comebacks as a reason to put them at the top, but Carucci on nfl.com says that needing such big comebacks in order to win is why he still hasn't put SD at the top. (They're at number four, behind Baltimore.) Oh yea, and if you don't feel like checking that link, it also put the Bears back at the top where they belong.
  8. I don't think anyone has been so head and shoulders ahead of the rest of their conference in a while like the Bears are this year. Maybe the Rams in 2001 but that's about it. As far as record? The Colts last year, the Eagles the year before that come to mind as teams who were so far ahead that they clinched the conference a month ahead of time. The Bears are enjoying a similar run this year, and it should be an easy run to HFA-my question to Bears fans is, do you want to rest starters or not? It's a very tough issue. No way. Grossman really needs to stay sharp, and the defense needs to keep themselves on the same page. I hope if they get any rest, it's for no more than one or 1.5 quarters per game (barring a blowout favoring either side). This esecially holds true for games like StL and Min, who could still be potential playoff contenders. I think this week's game is easily the most important on the Bears' schedule this year. I'm glad NE figured it out in GB and beat up on the lesser teams the same way the Bears have been doing all year, because I think that makes this game a bit better of a guage of how the Bears can contend with the big teams than the games against Seattle and NYG were.
  9. I prefer RC over both of these, but I definitely take Coke over Pepsi. I looked for a prior poll too. I didn't notice this poll anywhere in the first 12 pages, which took me back to August of 05.
  10. Think outside the box, abuck. Outside the box. Well if Hendry, as someone suggested, was saying how happy he was as a way of touting Izturis, then Cleveland is simply trying to get Murton for less by saying that they're only interested in a position which the Cubs obviously have nothing to offer them.
  11. Probably the same way a GM can be so pleased with a middle infield of Izturis/DeRosa.
  12. Your money is going into Izturis' contract. Thanks a LOT.
  13. Following the recent poll trend, because I'm original like that. I'm disregarding any others, plenty of which are admittedly better, and going with the old-school debate.

    Milk

Organic is still going to come as skim / 1% / 2% / whole. Yea, thought about that after posting. I'm with Derwood, it's a more refreshing drink as skim. Also, I'm sure I'm not regurgitating this info correctly, but there's something about the homogenization (sp) of milk that is supposed to have some lesser known and adverse health effects. Since skim milk is fat-free, there's nothing to homogenize. That, as opposed to the absense of the fat itself, is supposedly what makes it healthier. But it tastes better too.
  15. Is that the Florida Gonzalez or the 8th inning hero Gonzalez?
  16. Oops - dug a few pages but missed it the first time through. Do I get credit for an IBL if it's my own thread?
  17. In another thread--maybe the rotoworld rumors thread, not sure--there was talk about Murton possibly being used in drawing Westbrook from Cleveland. If they're shopping Murton as trade bait, then we'll likely end up settling for Soriano/Drew/Jones. It would be great if the Indians wanted Jones instead of possibly Murton. aren't the indian's pretty well stacked in the of? why in the world would they want murton? i thought they were asking for young bullpens arms. Beats me. I'm just commenting on the Rotoworld article. i wasnt questioning you, just the article. sometimes i think they just make alot of this stuff up. Supposedly Cleveland's interested in a backup SS and (surprise surprise) isn't terribly impressed with what we have to offer. Not sure how or why Murton's name was thrown in there, but he's probably the next step up that a GM not named Hendry would even consider going with.

  19. Didn't see it yet. I'm a little surprised at the size of the deal, but it's not terribly important either way. 2/18 with a $10mil optional third year.
  20. Or maybe it makes Coco Crisp and Wily Mo Pena more expendable. At least it would be more fun to complain about the team.
  21. Like they say, if you can throw left handed and have a pulse, you will always have a job in MLB. i have both of those and i'm not an mlb pitcher Maybe you need to spend the spring in Mesa.
  22. Shortening his name to Alf makes me shudder, and I think it can only mean bad things will come of him if we end up signing him. Can we shorten it to something better, like the Fonz?
