  1. Inconsistant I agree with inconsistant. I really think that if they're on, they're every bit as good as they're supposed to be, they just can't put it together more than once a month.
  2. So is the JAX Now that Philly made a game of it in Tampa, JAX getting smoked by Houston has got to be the upset of the week.
  3. I said something to that effect, but not until after R14 went down.
  4. They just took points away from Dunn on my fantasy team, so I assume it got overturned :( Nevermind...got em back. and already Pittsburgh completed a short pass to Hines Ward that turned into a 70-yd TD. 31-28 Pit, still 3rd quarter.
  5. Is anyone watching Pit/Atl? Atl scored a TD that's under review.
  6. Looks like Atlanta's going to take the lead too. Looks like a shoot out, but without R14, Pit probably won't hold on.
  7. That's what I was saying all week, but now that all those "other" teams are playing, I miss them again.
  8. I just woke up, and this game is definitely the one that jumped off the scoreboard at me.
  9. Are the Bears winning yet?? I hate this week. :(
  10. Just keeping this on the front page. We let it slip off during the week before the Cards game, and that was almost catastrophic. I'll open the bidding with Bears 27, 49ers 6
  11. Personally, I think they should have stopped the game after that catch. Mets win game 7 after 6 innings. End of story. That was unbelievable. It cracked me up how he didn't even realize he caught the ball, but doubling Edmonds off was just the cherry on top. That was great.
  12. I wonder if national writes have a database of "catchy quotes" about the cubs that they whip out when they need a story on the cubs. No matter what the story is about, it always goes back to curses, billy-goats, and all that cr*p. I wish it would go away, I wish people would just let it go. I guess until they win it won't though. Sometimes I wonder even if we win it, they'll still say, "well its only 1 in a hundred years". I don't think that will be the attitude, I think it will pretty much go away, at least for a while. The Red Sox have only won one in just under 90 years, but talk of that curse is limited strictly to nostalgic references, at least from what I've seen. Now if the Cubs win a WS, then proceed to have another 40 years of futility highlighted with more remarkable failure a la 69, Durham, and Bartman, then we may hear more about it.
  13. Last week against Arizona showed that he's a little closer to mortal than previously suspected, but his sexiness is holding strong in the face of adversity.
  14. I'm not sure what took Hendry so long to hire someone who speaks his language.
  15. That's a good point. I've bandied about the idea of a best movie poll by Genre, but never been motivated to really flesh it out. Best Comedy would be an awesome one to have. I could see NSBB posters coming to blows over that one. In other words, let's do it! :D I'm sold! :)
  16. Actually, I was one of those who wanted to see Rex replaced (in fact, if you look at the game thread, I was advocating bringing in Griese right before Hester returned the punt for a touchdown). I don't really see the harm in bringing Griese when it is was apparently very clear that Rex wasn't going to lead the Bears on a game winning touchdown drive. At the very worst (best?), Griese leads them on a game winning touchdown drive and it reignites a QB controversy. That can pretty much be squelched by Lovie announcing that Rex is his quarterback and acknowledging that he was just having one of those games that even the best quarterbacks have from time to time. I would not be too worried what it would do to Rex's psyche. If he couldn't handle it, he's not the right quarterback for the Bears anyway. My guess is that he would have handled it fine and I expect him to bounce back with a good game againt San Fran in two weeks. Well at least you were calling for Griese. Not that I agree, but sensible. There are still loonies out there that wanna see neckbeard in the game. I pretty much agree with TOF. Grossman sucked... for that game. His stupid decisions only seemed to get worse. Pulling him late couldn't have done any worse for the team than the 6 turnovers Grossman had already given, and Lovie would have had no trouble silencing all the Tuesday morning quarterbacks and their talk of controversy. If Big Z gives up 5 runs in the first four innings and starts the 5th by walking the bases loaded, you can pull him without skipping his next turn in the rotation. The one bad game doesn't make him a bad pitcher by any means, but leaving him in is also stupid, especially when the Bears have a bunch of Izturises who really DO drive in runs with their gloves.
  17. A Packers fan in my class was watching the game with his Bears fan girlfriend, and they shut the game off at halftime. He came in the next morning and asked me this same question with triumphant, now-you'll-finally-shut-up tone of voice. I just smirked and asked when it was that he quit watching the game. I've never enjoyed breaking news to someone so much in my life.
  18. Unfortunately, "incentive to win" and "brains to take the actual steps toward winning" are two completely different concepts, and if we're lucky, we'll see one of the two sometime soon.
  19. Yay, I actually thought we'd win this week, but we'll be lucky to win two more games now this season. What a joke. Our 3rd receiver is going to be some practice squad player that no one has ever heard of. And Thompson completely missed the boat on trading for Jerry Porter. What an idiot. Quite a bit of a receivers' success depends on the quarterback. If Favre does well the rest of the year, the Packers could end up having a star receiver who started the year on the practice squad and took a rare opportunity to make it big. A good game by Leinart last night made a star out of Boldin.
  20. You never know, the D could play offense and hit a couple homeruns themselves. Call me crazy, but mix in a Hester return with all that, and it's possible they could go on the road and put up a few TDs with no offense whatsoever.
  21. Easily. Including today, you can't say enough about our front 7. I heard Mark Anderson was a LB/DE tweener, any chance we can move him to LB for Hunter? That way we can get him in the rotation and still have a great front 4. Obviously I'm kidding, but I can dream :) Is it just me or does it look like Leinart got interrupted during a Derek Zoolander impersonation?
  22. If tonight's game was another yawner/blowout, then maybe. But now that the Bears obviously are in desperate need of a bye-week, we can let one slide. I was more asking about a game thread two weeks in advance. Hey, leave me alone... this whole idea of following a competent and fun to watch team is really new. I still don't know how to handle the excitement.
  23. Normally this long after a win, the thread for the next game is already up. Is it going to wait until after next week's games are done, or is it just bad juju to start one so soon after sucking so bad?
  24. I'm impressed, that's way more than I would have been able to stomach. Once was enough for the first three quarters of this game.
  25. I just got back from the bowling alley where I had to watch the game in mute all night with a bunch of people who were rooting for the Cardinals. I was begging them to let me shut the game off with 6 minutes left. God is a Bears fan.
