    I don't share the confidence most of you guys have. I think allowing three field goals to Minnesota makes the defense sound much better than they actually performed, and Seattle's offense won't be nearly as forgiving. Mixed in with the complete absence of running game and Rex's displayed inability to operate under pressure, I think we'll at least need to see something out of the Bears we haven't seen yet this year (running game!) in order for them to win, and I have little confidence in that aspect coming around. The Cubs fan in me predicts Seattle 21, Bears 13.

    Bears tried really hard to be the worst team today, but they couldn't quite pull it off. 3-0!!

    I really hope the Bears slip out of having to play in OT today. The coin toss would definitely determine the outcome.

    Well the Bears are playing absolutely terrible, but they somehow pipe up with just enough of a murmor to dangle us at the end of a string before breaking our hearts. Nothing new to this board.

    Now the defense has to hold, AND the offense has to put up a TD drive real quick like. Not looking good...

    :( I wouldn't blame it all on Grossman. He isn't as bad as he's looked today and he isn't nearly as good as he looked the first two weeks. He's had very little time, no running game, and horrible play calling. Not to mention a very improved and aggressive Vikes D and playing in the dome. Yea, but the second I posted that, he woke up and completed a few big passes, sooo... Let's see if the bum can actually put one in the end zone today.

    Um, 15-18 for 142 and no turnovers compared to 10-20 for 132 and a pick. You're right he's not outplaying him at all. :roll: If anything NEITHER quarterback has done anything big to have it called outplaying each other. I'll give ya Grossman is throwing some stupid passes. But to say Johnson is clearly outplaying Grossman isn't exactly true. That's just ridiculous. How much more efficient can you be than 15-18 for 142, no turnovers and no sacks. That's on pace to go 30-36 for 300 yards. Seriously, get real man. If you can't look at that half and those numbers and not acknowledge that, you are incapable of being objective. I think your argument is a no-brainer. Those are solid numbers, but is outplaying grossman's first half THAT much of an accomplishment? ;)

    The Bears haven't had a running game in ages. If they were to rugh the ball 15 times this half, they would have done it for 32 yards, if that much.

    That's a pretty good way to win the game. I hope the Bears do that.

    This brings me to a different point, which I don't have time to flesh out right now. Is Pete Rose really an all-time great? His career .303/.375/.409, 113 OPS+ line is Rusty Greer-esque. Was he merely a good player who just stuck around forever? I'm not claiming anything either way, I was just shocked by how pedestrian Rose's rate stats were. I once agrued that Pete Rose really wasnt any better than Mark Grace with a friend. Its pretty damn close. Rose won on all the 'career totals' but all the averages Mark was right up there. Pete is a money/fame whore. Its really quite comical. Is there not something to be said for someone who plays at that level longer than anyone else can?
