  1. Nothing is a lock in the NFL. If they are successful at pressuring Grossman and can move the ball with short passes, the Bears can lose. not to mention it's a road game in a tough environment against a good team. I don't care if you're the Colts or whoever, that's never a lock. The Bears were also much more of a lock to go 8-0 than they could ever be for the Giants game.
  2. Just came home to check the score real quick and surprised to see it's still a game. What's the story so far?
  3. I was wondering if we were going to see this. Did you make a similar prediction for the niners game? I don't remember seeing one.
  4. Just keeping it on the front page. It's bad juju to let it slip.
  5. I don't fault Driver for talking the way he did. If I were to step back and pretend I was a fan of a mortal team, I'd be glad that one of the players, regardless of how dillusional it may or may not be, is talking like there's a point to the season. (Insert tongue-in-cheek remark about why they take the field and crowning the Bears' ass.) He's probably just trying to fire up his team or himself.
  6. I don't think that is going to be great bulletin board material. He set himself up for bulletin board material if he had proceeded to another sentence, but right there he seems to just want to focus on his team and his play, and not what the other team is doing-he's not necessarily saying that his team will play better. Yeah, the questions he was getting were probably among the lines of "oh what's it like to go play the big bad Bears on the road," with reporters implying that the Dolphins have no chance. Saying that you're not conceding victory before even getting on the plane is not bulletin board material. Maybe. If you take those last couple of sentences out of context though, I think the Bears can use that...maybe I'm wrong. On a completely seperate note, these may be the worst QB rankings I've ever seen. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6120938 Yea, that's an absolutely ridiculous system of basis. The fact that Grossman has had a lead of more than 25 points 5 weeks out of 7 has counted against him, dropping him down to 21st. I really don't see the point of that ranking system.
  7. In his memory, Thomas Jones will run for 275 yards on 34 carries.
  8. Bump. I hate that the Bears only play once a week. I wish the Cubs were on a similar schedule so they were more tolerable.
  9. The last 6 weeks of 2004 are the only six weeks I didn't follow the Cubs very well. I left for Germany on the 20th of August for a 5-week class. I still had regular internet access, but listening to or watching any of the games was a lost cause. On the 23rd of September, I left for two weeks of backpacking, fairly confident that there would be Cubs baseball still happening when I returned to the states on the 6th of October. One look at the season's final standings, and I considered myself lucky to have missed it and refused to torture myself by learning much more about it.
  10. I agree, I just think it's entirely too early to be thinking undefeated, so I doubt they'll bother trying.
  11. Looked like a wrist injury The radio is saying they're checking out his shoulder.
  12. Oh Noes!!! SF is on the comeback trail. At this rate, they only need 28 more quarters to make a game out of this.
  13. 3rd quarter isn't over yet. I think they can still put up two runs before the inning is over.
  14. And Rex is taking them. That's my favorite part of this game. He's gone a bit longer a few times to keep the defense stretched out, but he's been making great choices all day long.
  15. I've been listening since kickoff with no problems. I forgot to use IE, got it to work now. Thanks.
  16. I was watching the first half at a friend's house and just got home. Is anyone else having trouble getting the game to come up on the WBBM web page?
  17. The Bears being so unbelievable has been the only relief at all, though temporary, that I've had from this pitiful excuse for a baseball team we can't seem to stop loving. I really need to see a Bears Superbowl victory. This February.
  18. This Cardinals team is worse than the Cubs '03 team. I'm still having trouble conceiving that they made it this far. Damn Mets. A lot of teams are worse than the '03 Cubs, and a lot are better than this Cardinals team. That's just one of the many logs heaped onto the Being a Cubs Fan Sucks fire.
  19. Bumping to keep this on the first page. I had another bad dream about Urlacher the other night. Before, I dreamt that he broke his neck in a game against KC, and they proceeded to beat the tar out of Buffalo. This week, I had a dream he died, so maybe that means they beat SF 56-3?
  20. He may just be old and injury-prone. That alone would be enough to get him a low offer from his current team and risk low interest from other teams. It doesn't have to be collusion, it could just be the business of baseball.
