  1. I've always liked watching Assad pitch. I'd like to see him lose about 10 lbs for next season and since he missed about what....4 months or so, maybe the Arizona Fall League wouldn't be a bad idea for him to continue to hone his craft. Quality BOR kinda guy. Only reason we didn't miss him this year was due to Rea coming through. Starters for next year: April: Boyd/Horton/Imanaga/Taillon/Assad/Rea....I'd like to see Rea get re-signed on another one year deal as he has a rubber arm and can flex between BP and starting....I think he earned a pay bump too. Don't know when Steele will be back and Wicks is a consideration but you can't really trust the guy. Can never have enough starting pitching which we found out again this year with Steele and Assad hurt as well as Horton later on.
  2. Reminds me of many years ago when Sammy wrenched his back sneezing...just s.hit luck obviously
  3. He looks dead tired. No jump or hop, just....flat. Nothing new but still sucks to see.
  4. Live in MI....Tigers fans in deep depression: LOL Schwarbomb with his 56th.....never get over giving him away for nothing. Unreal.
  5. Team looks disinterested and flat. Completely outplayed for a likely 4 game sweep at the hands of the mighty Reds. Not playoff ready it would appear.
  6. Ump won't give you ANY quarter if you're that wild. Can't call some close pitches 'getting squeezed' cuz he didn't earn it. Just a crappy outing.
  7. Stellar outing by Hodge....hopefully Keller can bring it home. Damnit...PH just couldn't throw strikes tonight. .............and Keller is lights OUT to slam the door. Well done.
  8. per Boog in today's broadcast. Then he and Jim debated on whether or not Pete is mentally fatigued or physically fatigued. CC has tried resting him some lately (2 games as I recall) and the kid still looks sluggish. He was pulverizing fastballs before the break. But with Tucker out it limits their options. Plus, as JD pointed out, his Defense is so elite it's hard to sit him at all. Thoughts?
  9. Thanks for the input guys...good stufff
  10. Agree, and if I recall correctly he used to be a starter for the Royals. Good stuff for sure. Question for you guys about Boyd. I'm re-watching game now upon getting home from work and he's obviously a different guy from before the all star break. I haven't seen his last few starts so what's the issue? Too many innings leading to arm fatigue maybe? If Soroka can return in the near future maybe they can skip Boyd and let him get a blow.
  11. Kind of what I suspected was going on ID. I mean....it's MLB and at the end of the day he's gotta be ready to go, which he has been thus far
  12. Is it all speculation at this point what his innings mgmt. will amount to this season? He's just been stellar obviously, but I know they want to be careful with him. Not been on the board recently so if this has been covered, the mods can just delete this thread. TIA
  13. Brutal....losing a series to the mighty Nats and now going belly up against the Braves. Feel like we're circling the drain boys.
  14. Kid is likeable and I'm rooting like hell for him but I don't agree with Counsell putting him in high leverage situations. He hasn't been good enough to earn that right IMO.
  15. Boyd has hit the proverbial wall...is it mental or physical or a combo of both? Dunno but with our depth right now I'd like to see them skip his next start. Give him a breather so he can maybe re-set himself and make a course correction. He hasn't pitched this many innings in a long time. Fatigue is inevitable at some point.
  16. Nice post and so true. Hot, cold, hot, cold....it's been a roller coaster and since we kinda know we aren't catching Milwaukee I'm just mentally ready for the playoffs to start. There is obviously no guarantee how that will go but maybe a fresh start (mentally) will do them good. I watched college football this weekend and just took a break from them. A re-set is needed sometimes and that's the situation I think this team is in as well. As I've said before, the best team doesn't always win in October. It's often times the hottest team that catches fire. Hope springs eternal that will be us this time around.
  17. thread fail....
  18. I'm surrounded by Tigers fans here in West MI and they're going through it too....just got swept by the A's. OTOH, I did read the A's have the 2nd best record in the AL after the all star break. Only Toronto has been better... Shame of it all is how winnable the world series is this year. There is no dominant team obviously. Whomever gets hot will take it all.
  19. Be that as it may, they just took 2/3 from the Brewers
  20. It's simply not an all or nothing proposition. Caissie isn't going to 'take over' for Happ or Suzuki for obvious reasons. However, the kid is earning more playing time, whether that be in the outfield or at DH. Love his upside but for now...spot duty will be it for him, unless of course he gets red Hot which would mean all bets are off
  21. Can't and won't argue with that....he's a butt kiss and JD's silence is deafening. You can just tell he doesn't care one iota for him
  22. Absolutely agree, we get a nice break in Sept. with 6 games against the Braves and 3 vs. the Nats as well as 3 more vs. the Bucs. So that's a 12 game stretch where hopefully we can win 9 or so. Conversely, the Brew Crew gets the Phils and Rangers for 3 game series at beginning of the month and the rest of the month draws the Cards for 6, Padres for 3 and also the Reds. We absolutely have a scheduling advantage down the stretch. Would be awesome to finish strong, whether we win the division or not.
  23. I don't think it's a black or white issue as to casting blame. COULD he have been more forthcoming about it to Mgmt? Maybe, maybe not but once the x-ray showed a fracture he should've been shut down for a couple weeks IMHO. Toothpaste outta the tube now, can't do anything about it obviously. Hopefully he can come back and get hot for the stretch run and this doesn't affect him potentially re-signing although I kinda doubt it will help.
  24. Who the hell is 'we'? Doubt you even sniffed AA like most weak azzed Meechigan fan boys. As for 'muting' me go ahead. Then you can hide from the well deserved criticism of the cheaters and the worst. Best part is there's even more to come: See Matt Weiss https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2025/07/24/former-michigan-football-assistant-coach-hides-dodges-cameras-after-hearing-in-hacking-case/ For those of you who don't want to click on the article it's pretty damning: "Weiss is accused of hacking into the accounts of more than 150,000 college athletes -- primarily women -- to access personal, medical, and intimate information without consent. In a separate criminal case, Weiss is facing more than 20 charges related to the alleged large-scale hacking scheme. Weiss pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include 14 counts of unauthorized computer access (each carrying a potential five-year sentence) and 10 counts of aggravated identity theft, which mandates a two-year sentence to be served consecutively to any other penalties." One of the cool parts of winning a national championship is when other fan bases tip their cap. “We don’t like you, but we respect you. That was a heck of a team.” Certain titles, however, will never get that treatment.
  25. You probly wish meechigan wouldn't have cheated their azzes off and sold their souls for a natty...but they did. Who said cheaters never prosper?
