  1. Kid ain't scared....looked confident and powerful today. If Tuck comes back tomorrow, I'd hope Owen could DH and sit Suzuki for a game
  2. This team is hot garbage and has been for over a month....will get backhanded into a cart wheel even IF they do make the playoffs. Soft.
  3. I hear you. Tuck has been moping around for weeks. He's obviously cracking under pressure and it isn't pretty. Virtually no shot we re-sign him now. I've said all along that trade's juice wasn't worth the squeeze: Paredes and Smith were quite a bit to give up but as the season has worn on, I've come around to agree with some of the posters on here: at least Jed tried to make a big time move. 'A' for effort I suppose, but it looks like it won't work out how we hoped unless he comes out of his malaise.
  4. Yep....offensively impotent again....can't get one GD thing going against Peralta, a guy who isn't overwhelming. Now we have to rely on Taillon not to get swept. I'm oozing with confidence.
  5. Yeah, I like watching Assad pitch personally. I know he's a BOR kinda guy....a 4/5 type pitcher but so what? He's solid in my book. Kinda know what you're gonna get and he really competes. Have always like him.
  6. Meh, maybe so but they're clearly the best team in baseball right now. That said, the world series isn't until October so...yeah
  7. Cheer up, it's almost football season. It's not like your favorite college team got outed today for being cheating scumbags...oh, wait......🤔
  8. Guy certainly appears to have a case of the yips. We all hoped he'd be worth the gamble but it's not trending that way obviously. Baseball is a lot like golf from a mental standpoint. The harder your try the worse it can get. He'll come out of it, but it would be nice if it could be real soon. Like before we're buried in the wildcard.
  9. lol....not at the moment Tangled. I've not wanted to admit it but this whole core of vets: Dansby/Happ/Seiya/Tuck just aren't getting it done. At least Tucker has only been here one year. The other guys have gagged multiple seasons at this point. Ya either do it or ya don't. They are crapping the bed in real time.
  10. Seems like a really solid guy who is just trying to do too much. That's the most polite way I can put it. Joe Maddon always said 'don't let the pressure of the moment outweigh the pleasure" or something to that effect. I miss Joe, he had a way of taking the focus and pressure off his guys. Not seeing that so far in two years with CC.
  11. All true, and they aren't alone: Tigers, Yankees and to some extent the Phillies have all gone through a stretch like this already this season. In the Tigers case the rest of their division is horrible so they can afford to coast. Like another poster said....this is the 3rd year in a row of this: all our vet position players with thee exception of PCA should be ashamed because losing to the Bucs today is just a kick in the nads. No excuse for it really. Yeah, he's probly riding them but at this point you can see them squeezing the saw dust out of their bats. Choke-A-rama
  12. I mean....what's new with that? It's only gotten worse with Ricketts and over inflated ticket prices. Sucks but it's true.
  13. WE GONE.....fun first half. Brutal 2nd half, we got a lot of guys who haven't come through and earned their bloated salaries and it sure looks like the playoffs are almost in the rear view mirror at this point. Odd timing with Jed's extension and now he needs to revamp on the fly but again: most of our big money guys have gagged the last 4 weeks. Pitching hasn't been that bad, but the hitting has disappeared. Maybe the most disappointing collapse of my lifetime on the north side and I've seen a few.
  14. Division all but gone....next up: wildcard. Team just doesn't have the 'it' factor right now and if we're counting on Tallion/Assad/Amaya to be difference makers I just don't see it.
  15. Time to focus on he wild card boys....unless we can sweep the 5 gamer against them coming up
  16. Couldn't agree more. Tuck is a really GOOD MLB outfielder. I think very highly of him but not to the tune of a 400-500 mil deal over ten years....no friggin' way, the guy will be 30 yrs. old. With that being said, trading away Paredes and Smith for ONE year of Tucker isn't good business. It's just not. The cherry on top of the turd sundae? Borass is Tuck's agent....perfect.
  17. I came in here to post similar...he's BRUTAL. All he wants to do is talk about himself. Narcissist.
  18. Busch with a strong game tonight....his stance at HP reminds me a LITTLE of Bill Buckner. He was my favorite Cub growing up cuz I hit lefty as well. Loved me some Billy Buck.
  19. That would be....sublime. I watched a couple innings of him tonight. He's just about unhittable.
  20. site doesn't allow certain cuss words so it defaults to 'horsefeathers' instead
  21. We shall see.....he's at 79 innings at big league level after today and 38 innings in the minors for a total of 117 so it's gonna get interesting. I'd imagine Tallion and Assad will take some pressure off him and get some starts at some point soon hopefully. I THINK I read on here that he pitched 151 innings in the minors in 2023 so time will tell but he's been fantastic so I think they'll be conservative frankly.
  22. Absolutely...another great start for Cade. I realize and accept the fact they'll have to limit his innings at some point. Hopefully Tallion and Assad can come back and help out in that regard. Horton is too valuable long term...gotta protect our investment with him
