  1. Soroka....the Nats are laughing their azzes off and rightfully so. Nice trade Jed....you the man
  2. Yeah....that's it. Just better that's all. Proved it during the regular season too. Some of you guys need to get a grip on reality. Man up, they're better until the Cubs prove differently. Been that way for YEARS now. Nothing new. Stealing their overrated Mgr. didn't help it turns out. Just a better run organization.
  3. Soroka sucks too, helluva move at the deadline Jed. Really ballsy
  4. If it was a 7 game series I don't think it would be time to hit the panic button. But winning 3 of the next 4? Kinda doubtful without Horton obviously
  5. Some of you guys are just full of pathetic excuses. They are good and proved it this season. Just be a man and admit it. You sound like a kid with comments like that. Give credit where credit is due. Even Shildt did that after his team gagged against the Cubs. He admitted Dansby was the MVP. Manned up about it....you should try it
  6. Gotta love rhetorical questions. Effers are GOOD which is why they left us in the dust in the divisional race.
  7. LOFL...you are literally correct but figuratively? It's over bro. Soroka is almost as bad as Boyd. HEY.....the inning is OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. What an absolute SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT show. Wonder if CC and Tommy came up with their Boyd plan all by their lonesome or if Hawkins or Jed weighed in. Over now....6-1. Padres must feel sick at this point. All that talent and they gag again.
  9. Which is what a majority of this board (including me) said going into this game. Another run or two and it's all but over with Peralta out there
  10. Mostly agree, but IF we could steal one today they'd really feel the pressure. Hoping their rusty after their layoff. Timing is huge in baseball, especially with regard to hitting. Just hope Boyd has some gas left in the tank today and can go 4/5 innings.
  11. This is what I told a friend of mine who is a Tigers fans. Most folks out there really don't know what this team went through. They got a lot of heart IMO.
  12. Meh, not a fan of Soroka starting over either of those guys but I suppose it's possible. If either struggles early, he could be a guy CC goes to outta the pen.
  13. I'm with you, doubt Boyd will go on short rest. Rea over Assad for me and I like them both quite a bit. I know they are bottom of the rotation guys but they both know how to pitch. Rea is a vet and I thought he's thrown the ball real well the last month or so after lagging mid season. He also has a history with Counsell and he trusts him.
  14. You are right...our pen has been so good all year, especially considering some of the older journeymen in there. That said, Miller hitting 104.5 mph was sick but at the same time memorable. Great series.
  15. Yeah, that's what I've been lamenting to all my Tiger fan buddies here in Michigan. They had no idea our two best starters are out.
  16. Absolutely....he was nails today. I felt good about him starting when he said he was "excited" before the game. That's the exact emotion you want from a guy who doesn't let the moment overwhelm him. Overall? He's been a damn good signing
  17. The mission is clear and obtainable....he's still pretty good but not what he once was. We have 5 innings tomorrow to get to him.
  18. I'm not a big stats guy so....I stand corrected. It's good news, cuz like I said, he's gonna be here next year. So that begs the question: how does Jed improve the offense next season? Some of the pups are almost ready: Mo/Caissie/Alcantara....but that's a big leap of faith.
  19. Yep, Tuck as good as gone. I like Ian a lot....he's been a good Cub but he sure shows signs of being done. Or at the very least on the downside of his career. But will they eat all the 20 mil or so he's owed in '26? Kinda doubt it. Plus, he's got a no trade clause so I'd hazard to guess we're stuck with him for one more year.
  20. Good point JR...what's your feeling on Jamo? I have missed his last two starts. How has he looked?
  21. Yep, pitching has been good all year long. Not perfect, but good enough to win. Offense is absolutely to blame and regardless of the outcome of this series, something should be done about it in the off season. The more I ponder it, the less I want Jed to hand a mega deal to Tucker. I don't think he'll stay healthy consistently going forward. All that dough can be used to fortify the pen, add another starter and solidify the bench.
  22. Correct 21...some damn nice arms on display today. Man, what an effort by Boyd. To think he's our #3/4 next year but got thrust into starting today is wild. Helluva effort and helluva year from him.
