  1. Gotta love the good old HBP to drive in the go ahead run. BTW, that kid that is yelling in the background is really really annoying.
  2. Just fwi, Ron said that Marshall's change is a very nasty pitch and one of the better ones in the system (along with Connolly). He also said that it is his bread and butter pitch. He said that he also throws a slider but not as much as the curve and change.
  3. I'm doing mine based on winning now and in the future. Rotation: Santana Prior Peavy Zambrano Halladay Pen: K-Rod C. Cordero F. Cordero BJ Ryan Lidge Oliver Perez :D Catchers: Varitek Mauer Infielders: Lee Texiera Roberts Utley ARod Izturis Tejada Outfielders: Vlad Abreu Cabrera Pujols A. Jones Lineup: Roberts - 2B Tejada - SS ARod - 3B Lee - 1B Pujols - LF Vlad - RF Jones - CF Varitek - C Pitcher
  4. I say they should grow a palm tree in left center for Joe.
  5. Here is an audio answer from the first Q&A with Ron. Link
  6. I'll call 30 in the next month for him. :D
  7. I don't think that the Cubs will move him up this year but he will probably be in Peoria to start off the year next year.
  8. Also, look at the Twins. They bring up young players all of the time, it seems and they stick with them. They gave the full time first base job to Morneau last year.
  9. Murton and Dubois are just as good of a prospect as Kelly Johnson who is referred to in Cox's quote above. If Dusty were managing the Braves, Mondesi would still be getting time in the outfield. You could bank on it. The proof is there. Cox allows his rookies to take their lumps and as a result the Braves consistiently turn out nice players. They were top prospects and maybe better than Dubois, Cedeno, and Murton. I'm not at home so I can't go back and compare rankings...but I think Choi was at least as highly rated as some of those when he were rising through the ranks. Here you go. http://www.minorleagueball.com/story/2005/4/8/11438/38755 According to John Sickels, number 3 overall (note that he is above Giles :D ). I can't find the top whatever list for BA on their website.
  10. 3 turnips, a bag of flour, a gallon of milk, and a 24 pack of diet dr pepper i think the cubs provide carlos with his gums I hear Carlos like Dew, not Dr. Pepper.
  11. So how the hell did he know Kerry and Prior would get injured. Dont tell me they are injury prone either. Percival has been hurt in the past. And priors injury was a total freak accident. Prior just has weak bones. If he would have had stronger bones then that ball would have bounced off of him and he would have been fine. We need to feed him calcium pills.
  12. I, personally, thought that he did a pretty good job when he started for us. He has been bad since he has gone into the bullpen but that is not a situtation that he is used to pitching in. I would have loved to have seen Demp in the bullpen from the beginning of the year and Mitre in the rotation and I have said that from the beginning of the year.
  13. Is that supposed to be an insult or complement? I know I didn't want to give any of those pitchers that much money. The fact that they got injured only justifies my belief. And to OHCF, Hendry was looking into acquiring all of them but he felt that they weren't worth the amount they got. There were rumors of us acquiring all of them during the offseason, though. Probably an insult. We did really need a closer but the price tag was too high considering its "only" a closer and we were already over our spending limit. In hindsight, it was definately the right move and 8 mil or whatever it is way too much to pay for a closer anyway. I was perfectly fine with having Dempster close. I would have been very, very upset if we paid any of those pitchers what they got. You can't just make [expletive] moves because you have a weakness. That gets you into problems over time.
  14. Hmm, are the Angels, Yankees, or Braves contenders this year? How about the Twins every year. Or the Marlins in 03. I could go on if you want me to.
  15. While that is correct, Hendry still didn't recognize the need of a closer. He still turned a blind eye to that position. He had no idea Percieval and Benetiz would go out injured. Actually, he wasnt concerned about them getting injured. He just didnt want to pay the pricetag.
  16. Ohhhh....I can't stand the suspense.
  17. Can we trade the fans instead? We should include them in the trade for Dunn. The Reds need fans anyways.
  18. As long as he keeps getting injured? I don't get that question.
  19. I believe that Harvey has the chance to be a great right fielder.
  20. Just blame me for IMing you about it. All you guys IMing eachother and stuff.. I feel left out.. :( I actually IMed raisin to ask if I should get a ARam jersey or Lee jersey, then he had to say this. Actually, I think CT told me first. But whatever. If it makes you feel any better, I told both of them. But CPatt20 told me so I guess he is to blame.
  21. I hope this is true for your sake. If it isn't, people are going to jump all over you. With that said, I would be very pleased if that happened.
  22. Me too, warpt. Me too. Me too. :(
