  1. You could go up to the plate and hit out 40 homers in a season?
  2. Yes, but when you look at the majority of the star players in the majors, or the players that were drafted that are in the hall, they came in the first several rounds. There are players that you can pick out that came from the later rounds but that is not the case with most. Remember, players are normally drafted high for a reason. They are viewed to have the best tools and therefore the best possibility of succeeding. There are some players that play above where their tools would normally take them, like Sandberg, but they are not in the majority.
  3. IIRC, Corey started out doing pretty well... around .280-.300... His numbers dropping over the past couple weeks coincided with an upper-respiratory infection (fancy medical term for cold/flu) and the last few games he's been doing better. I could be wrong, though. Either way, it definitely WOULD be nice to have a center-fielder on the roster... You would be remembering correctly.
  4. There is an actual article on him if you click the link. Based on the talk here, I'm not sure if you guys realize that.
  5. Harvey continues in August the way that he ended July. He goes 2-5 with a double, a homer, 3 RBI, 2 runs, and extended his hit streak to 9 games.
  6. no nsbb plug :( Still good stuff though.
  7. Stupid espn focusing on Boggs more than Sandberg.
  8. BUMP up for those that may have overlooked this thread the first time around.
  9. Ugh...the bases loaded For EPatt and Harvey and they K and pop out respectively.
  10. Wow, that's pretty cool. Thanks for the report.
  11. Ryan Havey had a .311 average in July. Third on the Chiefs to Fuld and Patterson. Both Harvey and EPatt K in the first inning.
  12. I have posted a few of these before and I thought you all would enjoy a look back on the minor league career of our newest HOFer. http://images.minorleagueball.com/images/admin/sandberg.jpg http://minorleagueball.com/story/2005/8/1/154533/3127 Also, Wade Boggs, in case you are interested. http://minorleagueball.com/story/2005/8/1/1573/05202
  13. The thread right above this one (well, now below)?
  14. That's the one thing I can't understand with Dope (his power). When I saw him play last year, it was like a man among boys. He absolutely crushed the ball. I can understand a low average or on base pct but I don't understand where all of the power went.
  15. For those of you that may be fans of Chan Ho, I wouldn't suggest you look at his splits of the last three years. Yikes. 1.58 WHIP is ugly. :puker:
  16. I am going to be in Seattle till the 10th of August. I am not sure if there is a way that I can be moved down say 6-7 slots but if it is possible, I would be all for it.
  17. There should be a list somewhere in trans. Use the search function.
  18. You should check out the transactions forum. There is plenty of discussion on Matt.
  19. That's what happens when hitters see through smoke and mirrors.
  20. But things sound much worse when you compare him to Chan Ho.
  21. Yeah, way to base it on 3 stats, one of which is is W/L record. Nevermind that Kerry has a career 1.26 WHIP while Chan Ho has a 1.39 WHIP. Kerry has a career K/9 of 10.41 while Chan Ho is at 7.93. Kerry gives up 6.99 H/9 while Chan Ho is at 8.19. But hey, I guess if you use the right stats, any player can look like any other.
  22. Perhaps you don't realize how sick the numbers Pepper put up last year were, and that was without having Moss there for most of the season. Most publications put him on a tier all by himself and right behind Peyton when it comes to fantasy value among QBs. That being said, Tice has said that they are going to run the ball more, their last three games (playoffs for fantasy) are against the Steelers, Ravens, and Bears with the game against the Ravens being in Balt. Meanwhile, the Bills have also said that they are going to be running the ball a lot more and traded away Henry. Their last three games are against the Broncos, Bengals, and Jets. I think I am going to go with Willis.
  23. haha, I was searching the DJaxx photo album last night. There are a ton of great pics on there.
