  2. Sorry about posting this so late. I am going to point to my av for the reason why (although he was not involved whatsoever). http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/stl.gif vs. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/chc.gif http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/119403.jpg vs. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/407578.jpg Hopefully we can get the white flag flying again today.
  3. He brings a radar gun with him so hopefully he will confirm those numbers.
  4. I'm saying that 4 games isn't enough time to say he isn't hitting. His approach since he has come back has been better and that should lead into a more productive hitter. Give him more time before you brand him as changed or unchanged, especially if you are only going by numbers.
  5. No, it's a he's so short he could be passed off as a 12 year old joke.
  6. It has been what, 4 games? Give the guy a little time before you pass judgement, one way or another. You have to admit that his approach at the plate, outside of the results, is a lot better than earlier in the year.
  7. This is why BJ Upton should stay at SS. http://www.dbulls.com/video_clips/hi_res/08-12-05_hi-res.wmv That is one of the finest plays I have seen from a SS in a while.
  8. Macias can't stay out past cerfew.
  9. I think Oscar Acosta would disagree with you on the age. It seems a little premature to say that Rich Hill is not capable of putting up Zambrano like numbers. Whether he will or not is another question. Hill does have some filthy stuff. Well, Hill is never going to put up the numbers that Carlos put up at the ages of 22 and 23 because he was in college and then short season and low A ball. Carlos still does have to ability to improve, which I believe he will, and put up even better numbers. I don't think that Rich will put up the numbers that Carlos put up last year any time in his career, let alone what Z has the ability to put up if he improves. Outside of his curve, Hill's stuff is rather sub-par. He doesn't have all that great of a fastball and he isn't confident enough in his change to use it in the majors. He may have even scrapped the pitch. His curve is a plus plus pitch but he needs something else besides that to keep hitters honest. His stuff doesn't come close to what Z has. And as IMB mentioned, Acosta was probably on something if he were to disagree with me on his age.
  10. Oh, wow. WTG Tribune. Brilliant research on that one.
  11. First of all, you realize that Haren is having a better year than Mulder, right? You guys gave up way too much in that trade. Secondly, all of those trades might be the reason why the Cards have one of the lesser minor league systems in the league.
  12. He hit and runs. I know he did it today with Lawton on base but Walker fouled off the pitch.
  13. Yet more proof that it is an overrated and inconsistant stat.
  14. Well, it works for Gary Sheffield... :P I think bat-waving is kinda stupid and juvenile. I also think Shef does it to try to distract the pitcher... although good pitchers look at the batter from the waist down. That's what Prior said he did, in an interview when he first came up. Finally, I think that Gary Sheffield is still getting some "help", and he's a drug test away from being in a Palmeiro-style doghouse. The difference is that Sheffield has one of the fastest swings in the game. He can afford to do it because he gets to and through the zone so quickly. Corey does not have this luxury.
  15. STOP COMPARNG HILL TO CARLOS!! Carlos was 20 when he was first called up. He had much better stuff than Hill. That is not a fair comparison and it really doesn't even come close to showing what Rich can do with his career.

  17. Well, it's 150 at bats to not be eligible for the BA top 100 prospect list so I would guess that.
  18. I'll post some pictures from the game that hopefully turned out when I get home tomorrow.
  19. I was at the game yesterday. All I can say is holy cow. Man, he completely dominated the Twins and made them look like minor leaguers. They only hit the ball hard off of him a couple of times and I don't remember a ball even reaching the warning track. I was checking the radar after almost every single pitch and only saw 96 or 97 for his fastballs. He also looked really really good defensively. He made 4-5 really nice plays on comebackers. He did get into one or two jams but that was really when he came through. He is really a special pitcher and sure looked like the real deal to me.
  20. Pierre in left is the biggest waste of that position ever. no that would be this years string of left fielders...and centerfielders and right fielders... Murton > Pierre Burnitz > Pierre
  21. I'm sorry but outright releasing him would be a very stupid move. You can get value for him from somewhere if you wouldn't want to keep him. Some team is going to give up a minor leaguer or two to try to turn him around.
  22. Pierre in left is the biggest waste of that position ever.
  23. Time to rest Aramis, Derrek, Kerry, and Greg Maddux for the rest of the year.
