  1. Below average? I would have to disagree with you. Aram has really improved defensively and is average to slightly above average, IMHO. Overall, I would call ARam the best 3rd basemen in the National League this year. I would put him second to only ARod this year. His defense has been solid and he is starting to become a legitimate All Star with his bat. Have you seen him play at all while he has been in a Cubs uni? Granted, his defense has improved but it still isn't that great. He still butchers a bunch of plays and gets saved from a bunch of throwing errors by Lee. I still love his offense and love to see him in a Cubs uni but you can't deny that he is below average on defense.
  2. I never said below average. I said not the greatest yet not the worst. That would be average in my book. :) Also, when Corey is right he definately is a gold glove caliber outfielder. I'm not commenting on Walker. And if you want me to throw you a bone, Aramis is below average defensively, imo.
  3. Murton has a left field arm combined with the fact that he isn't exactly the greatest fielder in the world, not that he is horrible.
  4. Also, I thought I would pass this along. A few comments on Harvey. http://images.minorleagueball.com/images/admin/harveyryan.jpg http://minorleagueball.com/story/2005/7/30/181019/130
  5. Iowa: RHP Jon Leicester (1-5, 6.84) @ RHP Chris Oxspring (7-6, 4.70) Peoria: RHP Matt Weber (5-8, 3.71) @ RHP Joel Santo (2-7, 4.79) Mesa: Your guess is as good as mine. Stupid ASL.
  6. Why do you want to trade Williams so badly? I have seen you mention wanting to trade him several other times. Just because he is a free arm to trade doesn't mean we have to trade him. As much as I like Sergio, I would much rather have Williams pitching for the Cubs. He is two years younger and has more experience than Sergio at the major league level, as you have mentioned. I think that we can use a 23 year old pitcher that has a pretty bright future as much as any other club in the leauge.
  7. I went to the Hall in 94 before the season got suspended and I agree with a lot of what you have to say. I love the way that there are card and memorabilia shops up and down the main street. For me, one of the coolest things was driving to Cooperstown. You drive up this mountain highway, but it isn't that wide and it isn't that high. It is really beautiful scenic drive and it really sets the tone for the day. I went to the football hall of fame on the same trip and while it was pretty convenient to get there, it seemed more like a stop on the road sort of thing rather than an adventure. Going to Cooperstown almost feels like you are stepping back in time. For any of you that have not been there, especially those that are boycotting because of Ronnie not being in, I would highly suggest you take the trip. It is really something that every baseball fan should experience. On a side note, Fergie was doing the same thing at the Cubs convention. He seems like a really nice guy.
  8. Believe me, I tried my best earlier in the year when I talked to you about it. :D Maybe you can make it on the 26th of August, when NSBB goes to the broadcast booth. I doubt it since college will have started by then.
  9. Believe me, I tried my best earlier in the year when I talked to you about it. :D
  10. On Tuesdays fans can get two tickets for the price of one. Ron said on the broadcast that there will be no "Two for Tuesday" on ticket sales, just on food and drinks. Hmmm..I got nothing to do this week. How far is Jackson, TN from Chicago? Already looked into it. 8 hours is a tad much for me. Yeah, I was looking at that a bunch earlier in the year. I wanted to dive down there and watch a couple of games. My mom said that there was no way that she was going to let me drive all that way by myself, though.
  11. Alright, so I am in a keeper league where you get to keep one player and then the rest is redrafted. I have my keeper down to those two, and have since the end of last season, but can't make a decision. Now, Pepper carried my team for most of last season and was a big part of the reason why I was in the playoffs. Yet, I think McGahee is going to break out this year and top tier running backs are worth a lot more, especially the way my league is set up, than QBs. My league has two running backs and a flex WR/RB slot. Also, it is a 12 team league and at least half of them will be keeping RBs so a bunch have been taken already while Peyton is going to be the only other QB that is kept. So my question to you is which would you keep in this situation? I am still on the fence.
  12. Believe me, you didn't miss much. I was there.
  13. I told Brandon yesterday that NSBB has been "sing"ing his praises. I hope by "NSBB" you mean "me". Just kidding, I know that Ron and a couple of other people are big fans as well. Hope he can keep up the amazing production of the last 1.5+ years. By the way, what is the DJaxx franchise record in HRs... does he have a reasonable shot at it? Even if he doesn't, he still has a pretty good shot at the league HR title, which would be quite impressive given Pringles Park reputation as a pitchers' haven. I have been a fan of his for a while, despite the fact that I haven't posted in his love thread much. I'm sure Rasin or O_O can vouch for me on that if necessary. :D
  14. I would just like to note that Corey has gone 2/4 with a double on back to back days. Perhaps now that he has gotten over this whole cold thing he will start picking it up.
  15. Or what happens? Or I'll punch him in the face. What was the point of this question again? Moot point anyways.
  16. How do you know that Dope, Moore, and Harvey have problems with breaking balls? Have you seen a bunch of their games this year, seen scouting reports, or are you just making an assumption based on the fact that they are power hitters that strike out a bunch?
  17. I don't think there is any way that Felix can't be rated as the top position player. Pie Harvey Moore Murton Dope
  18. Of course it is always good when they don't swing at the ones that are right in the middle of the plate... :D
  19. ?? Sorry. He said that he likes to see a lot of righties in the lineup when Rich starts because lefties don't really swing at the curve as much as righties do because of the fact that it sweeps as well as breaks downward.
  20. Someone needs to forward that message to Dusty.
  21. Awful? A little loose with the hyperbole aren't we? 4.17 ERA in the PCL is far from "awful". True, but it's far from top notch too. I think the difference is that Wainwright was a first round pick and the expectations at the major league level are higher. Well I know the Braves had serious doubts about his ability to make it to and succeed at the ML level, and that contributed to their willingness to trade him. And the Braves rarely make bad decisions when it comes to young pitching. Achoo! Juan Cruz. Achoo! You're right though. What's your point? I think Juan and his 2.75 ERA last year worked out pretty well for the Braves.
