  1. Sure they do. The Brewers traded Sexson before last season for seven players. I'm sure there have been more than that recently but I just don't remember off hand and don't feel like looking it up.
  2. What was your name before that? CPatt4Prez I believe. This is true.
  3. Did he say when he might be back?
  4. That is one disturbing sig..
  5. What's the under/over on how many times that Pie article is going to be posted?
  6. Same here. Right now he is probably the prospect that I look forward to the most every time he plays.
  7. I would like to nominate the Astros jerseys from the 80s with the rainbow of oranges and yellows. yuck.
  8. And under the surface? He is really turning it up. He has raised his BA around 25 points in the last couple of weeks and is crushing the ball like no tomorrow.
  9. Sounds like Carlos is starting to adjust to the SL. :D Harvey is now on pace for 7 HRs in 10 days. Good to see the walks from Corey.
  10. FWIW, Pierre has an OPS of .746 over the last year and a half (.355/.391). Hairston has an OPS of .760 (.365/.395). Those steals aren't worth the player(s) req'd to get him or the salary Pierre will command. Pierre is a career .307 hitter with a .356 OBP and Walks more than he SO's. Hairston is a career .262 hitter with a .335 OBP with more SO's than Walks. Pierre is gold glove caliber. Hairston is a back up 2B, who is playing OF. I like Hairston too, but there really is no comparison. How in the name of all that is holy is Pierre a gold glove caliber OF?!?!? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/scouting?statsId=6550 Oh, well if the espn profile thing says that he is a plus defender (which isn't true) then he must be a gold glove quality defender. Obviously you overlooked the part that I bolded.

  12. What are you talking about? First of all, who is this triple A player you are talking about? Secondly, Pie won't be in the minors for another 3 years. I don't want him to be rushed and I think that he will be up in two years at the latest. About Pierre, what does he provide that Jerry doesn't? I realize you think he is "proven" but the fact is that he is being outperformed by Jerry right now. IMO, it would be a very unwise move to trade for him because you are just using bait that could be traded for an impact bat.
  13. No, I wouldn't want him. Why pay 3.7 mil for him to play plus the prospects it takes to get him when we have a better option in house? (JHJ)
  14. For those of you that may use them, here are the boxes for each of the games. Iowa West Tenn Daytona game 1 Daytona game 2 Peoria Boise
  15. You realize you are talking about the same group of people that has an exhibition game actually count for something right? I would put nothing past MLB.
  16. I was tought the break of the wrists when I was training to become an ump a while back.
  17. I like the XBHs. Hopefully if/when he comes back to Chicago he won't be hitting in the leadoff spot.
  18. I don't care about what kind of person he is. It is a really cheap move to take off the gloves when he leaves town. If you are going to bash him when he gets promoted, don't protect him when he is still in town.
  19. Link to the Arizona Cubs box. Nice game for Felin Santana.
  20. I understand that he may have been a jerk but that is pretty low to take a shot at the guy after he leaves town.
  21. Yet Dusty dispatched Cox & his Braves in the playoffs rather handily... How do you figure? Both times they faced each other in the playoffs, Bakers squad won in the deciding game. So what are you arguing for? Isn't that what I just said? He's saying that taking a series to the deciding game isn't beating a team handily.
  22. Yikes! Pitchers going down all over the place...
  23. Kind of?!?! What does a person have to do to hit well??
  24. why? they're both young, toolsy, raw cf'ers who lack plate discipline and will both be rushed to the majors and yanked around in the batting order. it's actually a pretty good comparison, and you'd think the cubs would have learned from the mistakes they made w/ patterson. What mistakes? Pie has played almost a whole year at each level up through AA so far...and succeeded at each level. Comparing his rise through the minors and Pattersons is not really accurate at all. The Cubs could bring up Pie to end this season and I wouldn't feel like he was being rushed at all. Patterson was brought up after only having real good success at low A and skipping levels. Way different. Also, to paraphrase Von Joshua, if you bring him up now he will have a good career. If you let him develop and polish his skills he will be a great player. He still has things to work on so there is no reason to rush him and potentially hurt his development.
  25. About the dugouts, I always thought that they were always on the 3rd base side up until a couple of years ago. Growing up playing little league in Park Ridge the home team was always on the 3rd base side.
