  1. I was talking about in his minor league career.
  2. If it makes you feel any better, they hosts were going at Dusty about that comment. And it is the score which isn't exactly a station that seems to believe that prospects are just prospects and such.
  3. Murton has also historically been a strong hitter against right handers.
  4. You know what is also so amazing about the Braves is that they are always drafting in the bottom part of the draft. They haven't gotten a top 15 or so pick in the last 10-15 years. They never have a chance to draft the studs like A-Rod or Tex or Prior or Mauer.
  5. I just heard on the Score, and this isn't exact since I am going off of memory but it is what he basically said, that Dusty said that the reason that the Braves are more successful with calling guys up is because they bring them up a year later when the players are more refined while the Cubs bring players up a year earlier. This stuff is really starting to annoy me. The Braves currently have two players on their 25 man roster that are 21 years old. They have two more players that are 23 years old. They had Marte up earlier in the year and he is 21. They have brought up 9 out of their top 15 prospects this year. Andruw Jones was 19 when he was called up. Chipper Jones was 22 when he was called up. Furcal was 19 as well. Jermaine Dye came up at 22. Klesko had cups at 21 and 22 and was up at 23. Glavine came up at 21. Same with Smoltz. If Dusty is going to make excuses to play his favorites, he should at least come up with ones that aren't as easy to shoot down.
  6. Amazing how every team except the Cubs have found a way to get production from their farm system in the last 2 years. It's amazing that the Cubs have that much worse of a system than every other team despite the fact that they are normally ranked in the top third of the league.
  7. With their third selection and 24th overall, the midway monsters select WR Torry Holt of the St. Louie Rams.
  8. No alternate jersey at home plz.
  9. C'mon! Mitre is no better than Hill or Williams. I don't know why everyone thinks he's so "ready" when all he's done is suck every time he gets the chance to start? What's with the outrage? He asked if there were any pitchers that could do a decent job if they were called up for a spot start. Also, I think your last sentence is completely false and I and can show you the numbers if you want.
  10. Mitre is more than ready. Pinto, Ryu, Nolasco are not so much. I'm not sure about Brownlie one way or another. He might be able to come up and help in the pen but I am not sure how well he would fair as a starter.
  11. http://minorleaguebaseball.com/app/index.jsp http://www.openoffice.org/ Have at it. :P
  12. As much as it hurts me to do so, the midway monsters select RB Ahman Green of the Packers. :(
  13. The middle of August isn't the time for baby steps. It is the time to win. They had the first 3-4 months to take baby steps. If they aren't going to get into the playoffs I would rather see them tank so they can get a higher draft pick. (top 15 would be nice so they would not give away their first rounder if they sign a type A free agent)
  14. It always helps to have a faster swing because that means the hitter has more time to determine if the pitch is a ball or a strike. Amazing how he is working deeper into the count and getting better pitches now that he has the faster swing!
  15. Yay Gooz!! Welcome back to starting pitching!
  16. I saw you hit a home run in Wisconsin last year against the Timber Rattlers that still amazes me to this day. Do you ever find yourself being surprised or amazed with how far or hard you can hit a ball?
  17. With the fourth overall pick, the midway monsters select running back Edgerrin James of the Indianapolis Colts and formerly of the U.
  18. 1) How many keepers are we going to go with? I say 3 would be good. You don't want to have too many or the same teams will own every year. 2) What do you think of the flex spot or WR/RB instead of one of the WR slots? 3) We are going to go snake with the draft order, right? That's all I have right now.
  19. Someone tell chicubs to start picking!! :P
  20. I would like to see Murton in the 2 hole instead of leading off. I wouldn't mind seeing a one, two punch of Walker and Murton at the top. There wouldn't be a ton of stolen bases there but they are both really good hitters that make the pitcher work.
  21. Pretty risky choices on the running backs but I like your starters otherwise. Your bench is weak but that is the sort of thing that you can improve through the season.
  22. Something tells me that this may be the most anticipated Mesa game this year...
