  1. His OBP and power are much tougher to ignore. K's are not a crippling negative. 16, 18, 29, 5 is not exactly a power hitter. He has some pop but nothing to write home about. His OBP is nice, but not telling of his whole game.
  2. Tough to ignore Craig Wilsons 169 K's in 2004. Although last season he was injured most of the year, he still was right on pace for 150+
  3. Nice win for the Badgers...way to give the Coach a "W" in his last game! Fun game to watch!
  4. So is this dude signed yet? Or just speculation from his agent. Also, if he is signed, does he in theory take the spot of Macias? Or is that essentially what Mabry did?
  5. I stated facts regarding American cars I would be interested in. I did not give a run down of my assets or portfolio. Nothing more, nothing less...
  6. Here's to not setting your sights too high. With all due respect, they are reasonably priced and affordable. Z06 - Mid 60's - good price for the power you get, will run with the Ferrari Enzo Viper SRT10 - 2004's are around 58 - 62K Ford GT - Mid 150's - Note: The only car to consume a full tank of gas in 15 minutes at wide open throttle. I have driven all 3 and was amazed at all of them! They are amazing, even in comparison to Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo.
  7. The only American car(s) I would entertain ownership are: (in no particular order) Corvette Z06 Dodge Viper SRT10 Ford GT Other than that...I will take all my foreign vehicles and enjoy them for years to come!
  8. MLbtraderumors.com makes up more trades/signs than Bruce Levine!
  9. IF TRADED, I believe Soriano will go back to the AL.
  10. January 4th. Nice... now go get us Tejada without giving up Prior!
  11. I can see Vance is using his Christmas Vacation time well! You off till when?
  12. While I like Prior as much as anyone on this board, I wonder if we as Cub Fans overhype him? He has had a nice young career and appears to be on his way to a great career. However, we have never recieved a full year from him, at times last year he looked average. And to be honest I have yet to have the same feeling I did when he took the mound in 03. He was lights out. Racking up several consecutive wins and flat out dominate throughout the playoffs (notwithstanding game 6). In 2004, he never really got it going, struggling through most of his post injury starts and at times looked very hitable. In 05, he continually would pitch behind from behind and most of the time had a high pitch count early in the game. While I look forward to his 2006 season, it is with much apprehinsion. Are we going to hear the same arm issues throughout early ST. Limiting his starts due to swelling? Is he on his way to TJ surgery? While he is a strike out pitcher, we need him to last more than 6 innings. All that being said, I am potentiall excited to see Tejada in the lineup every day. He has spent exactly 0 days on the DL the past 5 seasons. Swings a respected bat and gives solid defense up the middle. A potent 3-4-5 of Lee, Tejada, ARam rivals anyone in baseball. To see Tejada 150+ games a year or hope Prior stays healthy enough to pitch 25 games is certainly something to think about.
  13. I've been thinking about this as well. There's always speculation that Prior will leave as Free Agent after the 2008 season and I can't imagine hearing his name floating around in trade rumors will help convince him to stay. Hopefully he handles it like a professional like everything he always has. It is something every athlete has to hear. I imagine they are coached to deal with this type of stuff during player development.
  14. I sure hope this is accurate. As do I, but the Cubs often deny that they're in trade talks. They denied the Sosa trade pretty much up until it was official. Do agree, however I think the Sosa situation was much different than Prior. I still scratch my head with moving Prior, sure it excites me to think we could have a 3,4,5 of Lee, Aram, Miggy. But at the expense of Prior...man I don't know.
  15. Q101 needs to keep playing bad music instead of reporting ignorant sports news.
  16. I really don't want to see Prior dealt, but if he is I'd like to see Markakis somehow involved. This is not good news. We WOULD trade Mark Prior, and yet we re-sign Neif Perez. Nice to know where this teams priorities lie. I understand your frustration. However, I don't think that is a fair analogy...
  17. I find it hard to believe Hendry would be adamant in not trading Prior or Z for Abreu earlier this month, then just a few short weeks later be so open to trading Prior for Tejada. Something doesn't add up and personally I believe this is pure media speculation that has this board all nervous and upset.
  18. While I agree with your post as a whole, and I also appreciate this thread as it has been extremely negative on this board for awhile now. (most given rightly so...) However, I don't agree that Milwaukee will be better, or even compete with the rest of the NL Central. No Overbay, an extemely young infield and no protection around CLee. Their starting pitching is good 1-3 but Sheets is coming off surgery, Miller and Mohler are sharing duties again and Geoff Jenkins is as streaky as Windex. Allot went right for The Crew last year and they finished at .500 much more will have to go right this year for the Brewers to truly cause noise. I remain optimistic and long for Spring Training and the sounds of baseball at Wrigley again! Go Cubs!
  19. I might be the only on this forum that is not ready to mail the 2006 season in. Call me optimistic, color me stupid, call me "the average Cub fan" if you want but can we atleast play a game before we mail the season in?
  20. Seriously, you have to be laughing your butt off right now. You must be loving every minute of this. I know I would if the Cards signed Jones. I was at first however our offseason has been pretty bad. I still have faith in Walt though. Certainly the Cards are the team to beat, but c'mon man...the NL Central has done nothing to this point to "upgrade" ... St. Louis has no RF, LF, 2nd and lost a key member of their pitching staff. I am not thrilled with the signing, but not ready to call the season in!
  21. hillbillly hick...
  22. Considering the Cubs offseason do you really believe that? Look at the Cards pickups so far... not exactly what I call stunning! I can think of holes in RF (no L.Walker) LF (no R.Sanders) you have no one at 2nd, lost Matt Morris ... Burnett chose another Country... Cubs offseason > Cards offseason
