That's pretty much it in a nutshell. I'd be absolutely shocked if Nomar came back to the Cubs after the way they kicked him to the curb this offseason. A huge "if" ... But, if Hendry said..."Nomar, if we sign Furcal your gone. If we don't your back" Maybe Nomar will be back in Cubbie blue after all ? -
Ugh, Nope...that is not our answer to success. I still have faith/hope the Cubs will be a strong team...just don't know who will be on it :)

Last year, Florida was picked to win the NL East, even during the year many thought Florida was going to take the WC and make some noise in the playoffs. Up until just a few weeks ago, no one new Florida would trade basically every All-Star on their roster. And to further my point, Hoops pointed out yesterday Florida was asking much, much more from NL teams compared to AL teams. No need to make this comparison at all.

I disagree with that, but it would have to take some extremely productive measures. Getting an above avg. CF'er and an elite OF'er would eliminate the trouble of not landing Castillo or overspending on Furcal. With the growing rumors about Manny wanting to go to the Angels, I wonder if Hendry will look west to G. Anderson, Finley or Vladdy daddy (yeah, right :cloud9: ). Hoops brought Finley to the table yesterday, straight up for Patterson. I am not on board with that move. And Vlad...ah, that is a dream for us !!!

I'll tell ya something, I can't say I'm a fan of acquiring a guy that will cost players to acquire, has a pretty hefty salary, and isn't very young, for the purpose of hitting 8th.
