  1. HAHA. Good one. I almost completely forgot that the Cubs organization is a winning franchise that brings championships to the fans year after year, and that I'm completely overreacting. Thanks for bringing me back down to Earth. How crazy of me to wish that just once in my lifetime someone with half a brain could figure out how to take a top % payroll and turn it into a World Series Championship for all the longtime suffering fans. It's amazing to me that anyone could find it so easy to be so disrespectful to a fellow fan of a team that hasn't won a World Series since 1908. The most futile team in sports history. If I was a Cardinal fan and I was whining about having a losing record for the first time in 15 years, that might be one thing. However, I sit here and watch a 9m outfielder kick a ball into the ivy because he's too lazy to pick it up and throw it back in. No punishment from the manager. Just a pat on the butt and a start the next day. I sit here and watch two guys hit at the top of the order who's OBP's are lower than every other teams lead off hitters AVG's. I sit there supporting this team day after day hoping for different results. And on top of that, now I have to be chastized by a (supposed) fellow Cub fan because he hasn't been there long enough to understand the frustration? Wonderful. How old are you anyway? It's brave enough that you would chastize other members of our community when you know that is an absolute no-no. It's incredibly brave to do it to a moderator who is in a really bad mood. I'll let it go this time. But, I won't be so nice the next time. I'd suggest the next time you see the "bag on Hendry" threads, look the other way. This won't be the last one, and you will have no luck converting every member of this community into a happy-go-lucky, nothing is wrong with the Cubs group of giddy people. If you know you can't do it, QUIT TRYING! Wow, relax. The world is not ending. Let the guy have an opinion. You obviously have one and don't mind sharing it. Practice what you preach moderator!
  2. And the year after, and then the next year, and on and on and on....!
  3. While I have agreed with most of your posts, I completely disagree with this one. 66-96 season and we are in middle of December? C'mon man relax. Also, what has Houston done that has made them better, lose Clemens? Rest easy, the season doesn't start tomorrow and Hendry will find us a RF.
  4. I believe I will enjoy seeing Peirre round 3rd and score with ease over 100 times this year. GO Cubs!
  5. I think it was a Saturday Fox game...it was definitely in May though. No, I think it was a Sunday WGN game. And I also believe that it was Mother's Day, just like it was Mother's Day when Sammy got beaned by Solomon Torres. It was also Mother's Day when the wind was blowing out at Wrigley in 2004 and the Cubs and Cards had a homer-fest that ended up getting wiped out by rain. That day has been a very strange one in Cub history. IIRC, that was a cold day as well and the RF for the Cards ended up hurting himself pretty badly...his name escapes me... maybe Eli Marrero ?
  6. I'll take a .305/.355 and we already have him!
  7. Not hate, just no love for him. I believe we have other areas we need to address. Second base is not an issue right now. That's it. I'd take Freel before Pierre to play somewhere if we were going to get a Bradley/Abreu combo, or something similar. If we got Abreu/Bradley I could live with Nefi hitting 8th and playing 2nd.
  8. Not hate, just no love for him. I believe we have other areas we need to address. Second base is not an issue right now.
  9. care to elaborate? Walker in my book, Freel reminds me of Bo Hart. Heck, I will take Jerry Jr. instead of Freel
  10. If true, then the market for Walker is really drying up. That is a good/bad thing I guess. I like Walker and think it is foolish to try to get rid of him.
  11. You live life on the edge man...scary stuff!
  12. I doubt Manny would go to Balt. Everything that has been reported, mentions Manny out west. Namely LA Angels.
  13. I hear ya, potentially yes. But someone is talking about it.
  14. cbssportsline is claiming the Reds will still entertain trades for Kearns or Dunn... Hmmm...Hendry work your magic man!
  15. IMO, Fielder is not ready to be a starting. Overbay was being payed pennies and might have drawn more interest around the AS break. If I am Melvin, I wait till late June and start workin the phones. Good pickup by Toronto, Overbay can flat out hit! A true fan favorite in Milwaukee also...not a good move IMO.
  16. I thought it was Hillebrand, not Gross. no sir. Hillenbrand was not included. Ah, then Milwaukee got robbed~!
  17. he has a plus arm. And that is about all, he will make the difficult play, but looks lost on routine plays. I have watched him in person ~50 times or so, he makes defense look hard.
  18. Brewers need Pitching and for Overbay you could have gotten some help. But Shea Hillenbrand, come on... Well, atleast they have 3B covered, word around Milwaukee is Hall will be traded and or used as a super sub. Hardy has the starting job at SS.
  19. Pop Quiz: Who made the last out in the 2005 season?
