  1. After what you post about penalties in every thread? Really? So you agree that was a good tripping call? The announcers and non-Vikings fans in this thread agreed it was a terrible call. Why did you ignore the rest of the post about his numbers though? I honestly want to know if you just like to use QB rating as a measure.
  2. Yes he actually had a great game. A qb rating of 75 is a great game? Sweet keep having those great games You only use QB rating to judge a QB? If so you would agree that Favre has been the 3rd best QB in the league this year, right? He was 34-51 for 334. His only INT was a tipped ball off his RB's hands. It was against an elite defense. He had a 17 yard TD called back for a phantom penalty. So yes it was a great game.
  3. That's silly talk. How do you figure? They got a lucky deflection. There was much more luck involved there than a long FG missing wide.
  4. Yes he actually had a great game.
  5. The Steelers got a lucky bounce so according to kujay they didn't deserve to win.
  6. when the vikings legitimately won the games? Just because favre leads another team to victories doesn't mean it's BS When the other team misses a reasonable FG attempt at the end of a game, you didn't deserve to win. That's odd logic. You can say they could or should have lost but didn't deserve to because a kicker missed a 44 yarder? Put it another way. When the other team's kicker misses a reasonable FG (I think 44 yards definitely qualifies), you are LUCKY to have won. I would say that means you didn't DESERVE it. You're lucky to win almost every close game. If a QB doesn't make a pass late that doesn't mean the winning team didn't deserve to win. There are always plays like that in a close game.

  8. Another call that only the Steelers get.
  9. Its incredible how the Steelers get these calls every week. Should have been 17-13 but because of a phantom call it's 20-10.
  10. Ugh that's huge. Bigger than the loss of a top CB on most defenses because we count on him so much in the run game. Benny Sapp has played really well in the nickel this year at least.
  11. Just so we're straight is "dem" making fun of a) black people b) southern people c) hillbilly's d) people who just don't talk very well? To me it was just like using "eh" or "up dere" if I were making fun of Canadians or Minnesotans. I see where you're coming from, you're just overthinking things. It was a drunken post at like 2:30 in the morning after a big win and a stupid back and forth with southern white guys. It would be extremely random and out of context to just start making fun of black dialect for no reason. There are walk-on white WR's but they don't play. #22 and #86 are the only white WR's that play. And our 2nd and 3rd TE's are white.
  12. I hope that doesn't mean what I think it means. ? It was a drunk post being stupid about a bad southern dialect. I'll chalk this up to you not being from down here, but usually when someone spells something like that they are making fun of black dialect. 1) Why the hell would I be making fun of black dialect when talking to a bunch of (presumably) white guys with no reference to black people at all? 2) I have relatives in Fayetteville. Spent weeks in Lexington. I heard a hell of a lot of white guys say "f's" instead of "th's". I've heard souf from white guys. 3) The post was clearly a drunken attempt at trying to make fun of southern SEC superiority fans. I just don't understand in what context you would think that was some racial shot.
  13. I hope that doesn't mean what I think it means. ? It was a stupid drunk post mocking a bad southern dialect. I know you're well aware that hillbilly's often sound like they're saying f instead of th. See my other exaggerated bad grammar/spelling in that post.
  14. I know man. I have no idea how you guys get prepared to face QB's like Stephen Garcia, [expletive] version of Jevan Snead, Mike Hartline, Tyson Lee, Larry Smith... I hear fans from everywhere else complain about how boring Big Ten games are. Then when Iowa has a night game I can watch a bunch of SEC games during the day. And I see a bunch of backwards hot garbage on offense. Then I see Iowa beat Florida in '03, LSU in '04, lose to a much better Florida team by one score on a crazy call in '05 and destroy South Carolina in '08. And every time I wonder why those athletes don't look as amazing as everyone tells me they are and why Iowa isn't so overmatched. Yeah I really hate when SEC fans say the Big Ten is boring. For one i like defense for two their offenses are no better. SEC ugly football that's low scoring and defense-oriented= awesome defense with athletes everywhere Big Ten football in the same mold= terrible offense Big 12 football that was high scoring= horrible defense Pac-10= soft They have it made. Ain't no one can play that ball like dem boys in the souf

  16. You're right. And I'm not being sarcastic. Luck tends to even out. They had awful luck last year. Meph, Sagarin, me and other stat models said they were much better than their record. Seriously they had a stretch of games they lost by less than 4 points where there were 10 total fumbles between them and their opponent. Know how many Iowa recovered? 0. 0 out of 10. All in close games. That's extraordinarily unlucky. They went 9-4 and the 4 losses were by a total of 12 points. This year it completely flip flopped. Although the breaks didn't go our way tonight. 2 starters were knocked out, we had a sure pick-6 dropped and what looked like a certain fumble recovery at their 18 that squirted out at the last second. I'm also the guy who hates officiating complaints (especially with holding) but there was a horrible missed pass interference on a big play tonight and three takedowns (two by the shoulder pads) by their o-line. We also were bit by a hook and ladder for 40 yards and a perfect pass by their QB with both feet flat on the ground, a man directly in his face for a 37 yard TD. This team is starting to look an awful lot like Ohio State in '02. Just don't eff up at home against IU or Northwestern. I'm not even concerned about Minnesota.
  17. definitely none of those white WR's they have and they've got a ton it seems. 2 out of 6? Yeah that's a [expletive] ton. If this was last year where Florida, Texas and OU were hanging 40-60 on everyone and looking awesome I could see what you guys are saying. But I'm watching Florida and Alabama and Texas and they're not that much different from Iowa. Really good defense, solid offense. I don't think Iowa is as good as Fla/Bama, but they're not that far below them right now. It would likely be a relatively low scoring game within two scores. And considering Greg McElroy [expletive] sucks and Tebow has been average this year, I wouldn't be scared of getting killed.
  18. What exactly shows you that Iowa is such a good team and would be able to hang with Florida or Alabama? I know it couldn't have been that 17-16 victory over Northern Iowa or that 24-21 victory over Arkansas State, both of which came at home. Neither Florida nor Alabama struggled against teams as weak as those two are. Fair, but I also don't think Florida/Alabama look much more impressive winning at Penn State, Wisconsin and Michigan State. Wait, if you don't trounce a Big Ten team on the road it shows how weak the Big Ten is. When you struggle to beat an SEC team it shows how deep the SEC is. That's right... The SEC and it's fans might be the most annoying thing in the history of the world.
  19. That ISU/Nebraska game was one of the more amazing things I've seen. 8 turnovers to 0? Seriously? ISU has Arnaud and Robinson out and can't muster up much of anything offensively. You win that game by two scores if you just lose the turnover battle by 4 or 5.
  20. That was outstanding. Herbstreit lost it after Corso got all excited about it. He seems to be getting better recovering from that stroke.
  21. Iowa has the best record but MSU is favored by 1 at home, which means one of these teams is overrated. Iowa started as the favorite and from what I've seen, more bets have been placed on Iowa. Yet the line shifted because the big money guys are betting heavy on MSU. That makes me nervous but the same thing happened last week and Iowa won by 10 as underdogs.
  22. I know, I just want to get past this one. I'm not concerned about the next two home games. Just win today so we can have 3 more weeks of spotlight, being in the top 5 and hopefully 10-0 going to Columbus. I was convinced we were going to lose last week for the reasons that we saw in the first 1.5 quarters. I think we match up better with MSU than Wisconsin. Their pass D is a weakness and their offense is reliant on big pass plays which we don't give up. They don't run as well as Wisky. They turn the ball over much more and don't get many turnovers. On the other hand they remind me of Iowa last year a bit. First-year QB, starting to get it rolling in late October. This game kind of feels like PSU-Iowa last year.
  23. Guenther says Zook will return next year. Their top recruit and possibly the top TE in the country C.J. Fiedorowicz is still visiting Iowa, possibly twice.
  24. Or tell the Iowa dumbasses to quit trolling every single thread about the Illini. Yes wolf and NewUserName. They've been Hawkeye fans since way back. Remember when you freaked out about me calling you a "dolt" last week when you ignored what I said? And went on a little rant about name calling where you started cussing and calling people names? And now you use "Iowa dumbasses"? LOL You can LOL all you want, but the fact that you Hawkeye fans feel the need to come into everyone of these threads that Tim and Chuck are posting, while trying to startup a new site is the real LOL. If you know the thread is about Illinois, or its players, former players etc... why not just stay out instead of being trolls and making smartass stupid comments? I know Wolf and NewUserName arent Hawkeye fans, and my post wasnt directed to them. It was directed to the 1st reply in this thread, and also was directed towards the other Hawkeye fans who felt the need to troll the other thread Chuck started. So it's okay for non-Iowa fans to troll the thread but not Iowa fans? Got it. One Iowa fan made one comment in the original thread and then Illinois fans came in and it turned into a back and forth. The same guy made one post in this one followed by two non-Iowa fans. But it's just those damn Iowa dumbasses ruining everything! The hilarious part was your reaction, as it usually is. You were so incredibly offended that I would resort to the use of the word "dolt" that you threw a fit and started cussing and name calling and then went back to it again in this thread. But that's different...
  25. I had absolutely no idea he was their leading all-time scorer.
