  1. Wisconsin scares the hell out of me. I didn't see their game yesterday but it looks like they were pretty successful on both sides of the ball just got killed by a couple pick-6's and a kick return. Iowa matches up better with their offense than a lot of the opponents they've had. Don't know if we win without a major improvement in the running game though.
  2. That was the worst our o-line and d-line have looked all year. Michigan deserves credit for that, they beat us up in the trenches. Thankfully we got some lucky breaks with turnovers. Stanzi looks so good at times. Feels the pressure and has good mobility. Doesn't get rattled or lose composure. Makes NFL throws when he's dropping 30-40 yard passes exactly where they have to be. Then he has like three straight throws sail on him that could be picks. Haven't seen it on tv yet but the pick-6 had to have been a timing route where there was miscommunication. Rotated guards last night and they have to get some continuity and improvement on the o-line to beat Wisconsin. A little worried about the way Michigan went I-formation and just pounded it down our throats up the middle on that one drive. Wouldn't be surprised with 2-0 or 0-2 the next two weeks. Rushing the field was stupid but it's funny how upset people get about it. It was (mostly) drunk college kids who were drinking for 10 hours after a close win on homecoming weekend against Michigan.
  3. Is Zook legitimately in trouble with administration or will they give him another year? And why do people keep claiming that the next coach will inherit this wealth of talent? Their last four classes were ranked 35th last year, 23rd, 20th and 31st. Good but nothing outstanding. Especially when the next coach won't have some of the highest rated guys in those groups. I'm pissed at myself for buying into all of the Snead hype when I only saw him play once or twice last year. He's a poor man's Josh Freeman, if that.
  4. Why is the Mizzou-Nebraska game not on until 8 tonight?
  5. Deion Sanders needs to be kept far, far away from the world of football. Or at least broadcasting.
  6. Overnight/really early this morning the 49ers signed Crabtree and the Browns traded Braylon to the Jets.
  7. Beautiful. Doesn't mean he's de-committed but probably not a great sign. Both Iowa and Wisconsin utilize their TE's much, much more than Illinois. If it's just a football decision they're both probably better bets. Iowa's last 6 starting TE's have all been drafted and Wisconsin has had a lot of success with them also. On the other hand Illinois is closer to home and he said the big reason for committing was the coaching staff.
  8. Illinois commit C.J. Fiedorowicz, a 4-star TE is visiting Iowa this weekend for the Michigan game. He's also visiting Wisconsin next week for the Iowa game. Rivals has him ranked as the 5th best TE and 110 overall. Tom Lemming has him as the top TE in the country.
  9. Wrong Steve Smith. I'm with UM those are the only 3 games I really care about. There were only a few during the day this past Sunday I was interested in also. Don't lay an egg Vikings. Just show up and don't screw it up.
  10. LOL Wht? Has 28 tackles through 4 games. On pace for 112. Not amazing but hardley "irrelevant" 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack. I think I'd rather have Jared Allen with his hand on the ground rushing the passer than dropping into coverage a good percentage of the time and making tackles 5 yards down the field. Its his 4th game as a OLB. I would rather have Jared Allen period. You know the Packers better than I do, but he was your impact guy in the front. He had 39 sacks the last 3 years. He has 1 tackle for loss in 4 games in his new spot and simply doesn't look comfortable. He was an impact player as a 4-3 DE. Granted it's early in the transition but he looks like just another guy as a 3-4 standup OLB.
  11. It's not close right now, but it wasn't close in 2003 when the Vikes started out 6-0 either. We all know what happened then too. I'll give credit where credit is due. You guys have a damn good team right now. The Vikings strengths played to the Packers weaknesses and that was obviously the difference in the gam Of course. When you're counting on a 40 year old QB who has worn down at the end of recent years it's always precarious. And I'm still worried about the safeties. I'm not counting on anything at this point. They should get to 5-0 next week and then we'll learn a lot more about them after the following 3 games prior to the bye week.

  13. The NFC North thanks Dom Capers for making Aaron Kampmann irrelevant.
  14. Posted by ESPN.com’s Kevin Seifert MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota is the best team in the NFC North, and right now it’s not close. That’s where I stand after seeing all four division teams play this week. Chicago has played decently since its opening-week loss at Green Bay. But no one has beaten anyone from a physical standpoint as much as the Vikings defeated the Packers on Monday. Let me correct that. The Vikings didn’t just beat the Packers. They beat ‘em up.
  15. Again, doesn't change the fact it was a terrible call. The refs were terrible tonight. It's not the reason why we lost but you expect better from the refs. Well they're often terrible. Plus you guys had 10+ years of Favre treatment from officials. Come on. It's the same with Packers fans complaining about the verbal fellatio.
  16. Anyways that win was all Favre and the d-line (or Packers o-line). Our coverage was the worst it's been in a long time. Bad gameplan early, the d came out blitzing and Rodgers was getting rid of it quickly to open receivers in man coverage. Luckily they adjusted and sat back in zone while the front four got pressure. O-line was great in pass protection but couldn't get anything opened up in the running game. Plus Adrian got really impatient and was looking for the home run instead of taking what was there. Hopefully a lot of it was due to Hutch not being 100% tonight. Sullivan struggled in run blocking also. Favre was a stud tonight. He was on the money all night even with the downfield throws. He still has a laser. Best part of his game was decision making and not forcing things. Really didn't come close to any picks other than Woodson's on the offsides/PI. Our safeties still worry me and they had some breakdowns in the back end. Winfield is a stud. Keep Favre healthy. Better yet keep rolling and then have him go down for a month's worth of rest to come back fresh for the playoffs.
  17. Yeah and ignore that there was also an offsides on the Packers and the PI didn't matter. Doesn't change the fact that the PI was a brutal, brutal, brutal call. Great, it still wouldn't have mattered if they ate the flag.

  19. I doubt Berry will be the first pick in the draft. Is he even that great of a prospect? Yes
  20. Pretty unethical move by ESPN, but what else is new? They have to protect their guy. Does that omission really change much? In the grand scheme of things, not really. I just don't get why they took it out when they aired it on earlier editions of SC. That's why I think it's pretty unethical. If they're editing things from this interview, there's a good chance that this hasn't been the first time that's happened. ESPN should be getting ridiculed. But what about the edit makes Favre look better? That's why I don't understand what makes it unethical. It doesn't change the intent or meaning of what he said.

  22. I didn't even notice it until I saw your post, but the a-holes at DirecTV apparently took ESPN Classic off of all their packages except the most expensive Premier package. Completely unacceptable BS. They switched it with ESPNU I believe. You can still get it without going to premier, you just have to get the Sports Pack which is $12 per month.
  23. And they had no business staying in the 30's going into the PSU game. They started 21st and have gone 5-0 with the 35th toughest schedule. They have a 35-3 win at ISU which is looking better, a fairly decisive win against Arizona who is 22nd in sagarin and the 21-10 win at PSU. They're ranked 9th in Sagarin and average in the top 10 in computer polls. 12th is about right.
  24. Same here. Makes up for the 12 spot drop through the first 3 games.
  25. Thom Brennaman really doesn't know much about football. He was criticizing Stafford for overthrowing his TE in the end zone when the ball hit him in the chest. Now he asks how a center can be "offsides"
