  1. You never fail to deliver sulley.
  2. How has he rated defensively the last 2 years?
  3. Yeah you do have that on me...
  4. I don't think he ever was. He was one of the best fantasy backs going into this year because of the amount of carries and receiving targets he was expected to get. He's a solid back but I don't know that he's top 10 in the league. He only has 1 year and in that year he didn't average 4 ypc.
  5. No he's actually pretty solid. For his career he's a 60% completion guy, averages 7.4 per attempt and has 19 TD's to 12 INT's. He's not great but those are solid numbers for a junior Big Ten QB with less than 15 starts under his belt. As far as the nerves thing, in first halves this year he's completed 49% and has an efficiency of 93. In second halves he's completed 73.3% and has an efficiency of 163. He's obviously having some sort of issues with being too amped up or something in the first half. And in regards to him missing his receivers by 20 yards at times, the one on Saturday was on Reisner. Ferentz and Reisner both said he ran the wrong route. The throw where he missed Moeaki at ISU was awful though. By the way was it you or manbear that I had the back and forth with regarding Shonn last year? I never get my rightful gloating out of that.
  6. 1) It's about 1,000 times different with a running back than a QB. 2) What you described is pretty much just man coverage with a MLB. It's not anything radical but there's no way they play man all day and if they just keep him assigned to Adrian it opens up a large hole in the middle for the passing game. It is an interesting game though.
  7. So are 3 of Iowa's 4 best offensive players.
  8. If all that stuff is true on top of everything else this year, I'm not sure how people can still say they didn't have to suspend him.
  9. You're completely ignoring the Green Bay game where he had 25 carries for 55 yards. That exact same Green Bay defense playing at home again, allowed Ced Benson to go for 141 on 27 carries. Forte has 38 carries for 84 yards this year, a 2.2 ypc average. While Pittsburgh is very good against the run, the Titans at least went 23 carries for 85 yards. I can tell you think Turner is Satan but how can you say blame is equally his when Forte is having nowhere to run and getting stuffed so much? Especially in that Green Bay game when they gave him 25 carries. Seattle just got gashed yesterday on 2 huge runs for 159 yards. Steven Jax had a fairly average day against them last week. At any rate that was a really good win for the Bears yesterday. A 2-1 start would be fairly impressive. Look the run game has left alot to be desired. As for the Green Bay game, Forte had 4 carries in the 1st quarter, and 4 carries in the 2nd quarter, pretty hard to get a feel for the game, and get going with 8 damn carries the entire 1st half. There was no flow to that game against GB because of the play calling by Turner, who decided he wanted to come out throwing all over the field. Then come 2nd half Turner gives Forte 17 carries in the 2nd half, yea good job trying to get Forte established early on. Forte has 10 rushing attempts in the 1st half of games so far, thats absurd. Well I don't disagree with that. But there's nothing that says teams run better if they get more carries in the first half to get a feel for the game. 25 carries is 25 carries. And he got 17 carries in a half where the defense was more fatigued. And they still averaged 2.2 ypc against a team that got gashed for 150 this Sunday by Benson. I just happen to have seen the entirety of the two Bears games this year and have seen that line open up nothing for Forte. It's certainly reasonable to expect them to get better as they become more cohesive, but thus far they're the main culprit.
  10. Yes. These games are meaningless and making this big of a deal just causes the Cubs' bargaining position in trading Bradley plummet from minimal to practically non-existent. I don't see how the decision to suspend him changes what they could get him. If the Cubs were deadset on moving him in the offseason, teams were going to know. It's on Jim now to get the best offer, but we knew all along that if he was going to trade Bradley in the offseason he was screwed anyway. The Cubs front office is extremely player friendly. In my opinion, too friendly. But there has to be a line drawn somewhere. You can't let everything go with no chance for repurcussions. The best players on this team are down on Bradley and sick of his act. Give them a break of not having to deal with it. As you said, the games are meaningless at this point, so the logic of having your best players on the field is less important. Agreed, that's pretty much exactly what I said last night.
  11. I'm just afraid we're going to have to eat almost all of his salary and won't have any money to replace him. In which case we either stay from within or find someone undervalued. We most likely won't get great offensive production from available options. Best bet may be to move Fuku to RF, go with a really good defensive CF and try to just prevent some of the runs we'll lose on the other end.
  12. Their run D is pathetic. So is the Bears run O. Why am I not surprised that you responded with that. 16 run attempts today, thats it. Our running game being non existent has been as much Turners fault as Fortes/Oline. Forte has 2 carries in the 1st half today. Pitt defends the rush well so it makes sense putting the ball in Cutlers hands, but against Seattle it should be all Forte. At any rate that was a really good win for the Bears yesterday. A 2-1 start would be fairly impressive.
  13. Sagarin is great from the middle of the year on. In the first few weeks it's pretty meaningless.
  14. So you're content going into next season with Milton as the RF? You think this situation will get better by then, and not worse? Come on.... it's time to move on. Milton is basically begging to leave, and you still want him to stay? This situation is not salvageable. I don't know how you can think that it is. No at this point it's obvious that it won't work out. It's just [expletive] sad how it's all turned out. Piniella was the wrong manager for Bradley(amazingly Dusty would be ideal). Maybe a lot more has gone on behind the scenes, and maybe they kept reaching out to Milton, but it just seems a simple private sit down with Bradley, tell him not to talk the media, whatever would've done the job. It greatly disturbs me that the stated reasons for Bradley's suspension is the way he makes the media and fans feel. As for the player reactions, I think this is getting overblown. I don't expect a Cubs employee to back the guy who was just suspended. Of course nobody really seemed like friends with Bradley, so I guess they wouldn't have a lot of motivation if that wasn't the case. I mean honestly, what's the worst that he could've affected the other players? A bunch of questions about him from the media. I'm sure that's why Geo's struggled this year. If he played the victim this year, it would have only been worse with Dusty. He loved to play the "us against the world, no one respects you" card. His guys became contentious with the media and looked for disrespect wherever they could find it. Jones and Hawkins had their problems with "racist" fans under his tenure and Dusty loved to subtly play the race card to avoid blame. I think it's pretty clear his teammates didn't like him and he didn't really interact with anyone. I would never say his problems would have resulted in inferior production from specific players.
  15. I have a somewhat irrational hatred for watching NFC East games.
  16. He won't get anything now that he suspended him. He wasn't going to get anything if he didn't suspend him. It's his 6th team in 7 years and there already were probably a fair number of teams that wouldn't touch him because of his rep. Everything that went on this year was well known around baseball and with his lack of production and contract, he has almost no trade value.
  17. Easily? His on-field production relative to the other in-house options is basically irrelevant. It simply got to the point where there was no way it would be feasible to bring him back next year.
  18. i can see trading him, but i think they could have DL'ed him with knee inflammation or tried to work with him to shut the hell up the rest of the year, and then try to accommodate him by dealing him to a handful of teams he wants to play for. as it is now they've basically ended up in a situation where they have to eat most of his contract next year (and i think the year after - i don't see any reason why they could get out from under 2011) and get nothing in return, there are no good in-house options and with the $10M committed to bradley the next two years, it's going to be really hard to get acceptable production from RF without giving up some good players from the farm. i dunno, just seems like other teams do a lot better job of damage control than the cubs do. i suppose it doesn't matter much because, barring some miraculous improvements, the cubs are just going to be mediocre and boring in 2010. Do you really think it mattered though? Prior to the suspension, I'm sure every team in baseball knew we were going to dump Bradley this winter. Now he's suspended and every team in baseball knows we're going to dump Bradley this winter. The only difference is it may send a message that you can't completely act like an ass in the clubhouse, trash your fans, blame everyone possible for your problems and be an overall headache for everyone in the organization. As far as who we'll have in RF next year, I have no idea and it probably won't be good. But there really wasn't anything Hendry could have done in this last month to make it work. Milton has been trying to force a trade for the last month with his comments in the media.
  19. LOL I certainly don't hate him at all. The only thing I hate more than the people who blamed him for everything are the people who make Milton the victim of evil, racist fans and bullies in the media. He's not a victim. He's a douche of the highest order who is doing everything in his power to get himself traded this offseason. And he underperformed this year.
  20. Then the Park District will remind them it is their field Thats fine, im sure if they threatened to move out to one of the Burbs they could get more done. Move out to the burbs with what money? It would be an empty threat.
  21. It's not college If your knee hits the ground you're down, no? Um, no. OH YEAH! WIDE LEFT! So what's the point of a QB taking a knee if it doesn't mark the player down? Because it's a special play (just like the holder isn't down when he receives the snap on a FG) where you're conceding and it protects the QB. It's only been the rule for all of forever in the NFL that you need to be touched when you're down in the NFL. Not to be a dick but how have you not known that?
  22. Look out Adrian. He has almost a half to get 90 yards and break the record.
  23. Patrick Willis just effed up Hasselbeck. Got hit in the back as he was trying to get to the end zone, got up calling for his backup right away. Then looked all woozy, stumbled around, fell to his knees and is now laid out.
  24. Carter and Olsen both have brain damage.
