  1. I really don't see how that was a dirty play by any means. He stopped as he got to Cutler and didn't extend at all. It was a good acting job by Jay.
  2. Why not? It was scheduled that way in the preseason when Iowa was ranked and PSU was top 10. They're both 3-0 now. Plus they can re-live the game they had last year like they did with Texas Tech/Texas. It's probably the 2nd best game of the weekend.
  3. Gah Iowa didn't move up at all really again. Start the year at 21, get two convincing wins over BCS schools (one on the road) but win a squeaker against UNI and they're stuck in the 30's. If the results of the UNI and ISU game were flip flopped they probably wouldn't have dropped. Even though UNI is quite arguably a better team than ISU. Just win at PSU somehow and get in the top 20.
  4. Gameday is going to be in Happy Valley for the Iowa/Penn State game next week. Would be nice if Iowa snuck into the top 25 but I'm not expecting it. They were 21 and 22 preseason, dropped to like 35 after barely beating UNI. Then won at Iowa State 35-3 and beat Arizona by 10. If they had beaten UNI 35-3 and then barely beat Iowa State they probably wouldn't have dropped.
  5. Obviously the reporter wrote in abbreviations and the such but how does it make it into the published story. For crying out loud, it clearly was quoting what he wrote on his twitter page.
  6. On that new NFL network show I saw Mora, Mariucci and Martz talking about how unprofessional he looked and how he doesn't "get it." He comes across as a douche quite a bit compared to other NFL quarterbacks. Both him and Rivers. Delhomme is a douche on the field but fairly professional in front of the media. If he were on my team and playing well I wouldn't care very much. Just like Bears fans will downplay it and say it doesn't matter but if he were doing some of the same things on the Vikings or Packers he would be called a grade-A douche on here.
  7. He has control of the ball, falls down the ball causes the fumble and all of this happens in the endzone. LOL That's one of the worst rules in the NFL. He caught it, got two feet down and his butt hit all with him having possession of the ball. That's a touchdown. It shouldn't matter that he fell down after that and the ball came out. It shouldn't be part of the "process of the catch" as the rule says.
  8. No, it's the BCS standings that doesn't start until later in the season. The AP poll has always been weekly from preseason on. I know the BCS polls are always later but I could've sworn the AP poll didn't come out until around week 4 or 5 for the last two seasons. Nope, they've started in the preseason just like always.
  9. Both QB's are better than they played tonight. Again the biggest thing I take from it is how bad both o-lines looked. Packers and Vikings are both in great position to start 3-0. Bears need to play well to avoid a really big early hole after 3 games. Both O-lines looked pretty bad tonight. If neither of them clean it up, I don't see how the Vikings don't win the division. It could have been a product of both teams defenses playing their butts off. I thought the Packer line is fine except for the RT. He was horrible. I think Rodgers made them look better than they were with his scrambling and escape from the pocket. The Bears o-line was just struggling all over. 25 carries for 55 yards for Forte? The Packers were bottom of the league in run defense last year. I know they switched to the 3-4 so it's not apples to apples, but yikes.

  11. Yes it was, thats not picked off if Knox doesnt stop on that route Right. If Knox continues running that's in a good spot for him to catch it. But even if he does catch it, there's an immediate tackle after a 5 yard gain with the clock running. Harris was already jumping the route. Knox stopping made it an easy pick but it wasn't a sure thing even if he finishes his route.
  12. That wasn't his fault. It was still a poor decision. Harris had already jumped the route before Knox stopped. Even if it's complete there are 2 LB's right there with Harris and it's only a 5-6 yard gain with the clock running.
  13. The extremely slim hope of a blocked/missed PAT or bad snap. Pretty much meaningless but with 1 minute left it's worth it.
  14. There was no reason not to go for it. What's the difference if you're down 2 or 1; either way a FG takes the lead. They absolutely should have gone for 2. What's the difference? If you don't get it you're down 10-8 and a Packers TD puts you down by two scores.
  15. Regardless of what happens here that was the right call to take the 1 at that point in the game.
  16. He's arguably the best long snapper in the game. Not trying to get into an argument, but honestly how do you quantify that? There aren't very many bad snaps in the NFL.
  17. These are two bad o-lines tonight.
  18. I'm pretty sure the offensive coordinator doesn't call fake punts.
  19. Fake punt run on 4th and 11 at your own 26 in the 4th quarter with a 2 point lead? Are you kidding me?
  20. Bad o-line play by both teams.
  21. Someone gets pushed to the ground a full 3 seconds after the whistle on every play? What the hell was Woodson doing on that interception anyways? He completely caused the fumble himself.
  22. I think it's very possible that he's just not that good. He was only the featured back one year at Notre Dame and was solid but not spectacular. He split time the rest of his career and his career average was 4 ypc. Went undrafted and was stashed on the Giants practice squad and then missed the following year. The only thing he's ever done above average in his football career is have a good '07 where he split carries in an explosive offense with a great passing game. He's not terrible, but I don't think it's crazy to wonder if last year is just his true talent level.
  23. I can't ever remember one team gaining so much media love based on the preseason. Especially a team that couldn't stop the run last year and had a RB who was inconsistent at best. Why are the Packers so much better than last year? The 3-4? But there is no way to determine how good they will be right now. Grant had 1200 yards during a 'down' year. That's not bad. On 312 carries. He averaged less than 4 ypc in an offense with a great passing game and wasn't a threat as a receiver. I definitely don't see anything wrong with his description as inconsistent. I'm also not sure how you can say that was a "down" year. It's his only year as a feature back.
