  1. Hey Bears, win.
  2. I think my favorite night of the basketball season will be January 5th when Iowa plays at Illinois. Because the football team is also playing in the Orange Bowl that night so I won't have to watch the Illini hang 80 on us in a 60 possession game.
  3. I wish Iowa knew how to play defense. I really, really do.
  4. My condolences snood.
  5. 2 BCS bowls and 3 bowls in 5 years (eligible for 4 bowls). He's going to be working as an NFL offensive coordinator next year and could easily be an NFL head coach someday. I get that you don't like ND and want to enjoy a little schadenfreude, but you have a very unusual definition of people falling on their faces. 16-21 in the 3 years where he started getting away from having all inherited players at Notre Dame is certainly falling on your face. At least after you guarantee that you'll out X and O everyone in the nation. this has been covered in multiple threads. you don't know what you're talking about, so i'm not going to explain it again. So he wasn't 16-21?
  6. It really would have been interesting if Texas missed that kick and Cincy was playing in the national championship.
  7. Trib is reporting Kelly is on the brink of being the guy at ND.

  9. You're right only Charlie fell on his face.
  10. don't follow Jimmy's footsteps and be the best QB in CFB this year and be drafted in the first few picks of the NFL draft and make millions? don't do that? any other advice? The same idiots who say Jay Cutler is a loser because of his college record and mediocre Broncos record will hound Clausen for the same things I love Clausen as a pro prospect. He showed up in a freaking limo to announce his committment at the hall of fame, promising championships. He had one good year in college and he never was really part of a winning team. Charlie showed up talking about schematic advantages over everyone else, saying he was the smartest coach in the country. When you're over the top brash, arrogant and douchey, people will rightfully rejoice when you fall completely flat on your face.
  11. Sounds like it may be his mother-in-law. Some reports that Ellin was seen in a black escalade following the ambulance.
  12. Honestly, what was Jimmy's biggest win at Notre Dame? Boston College at home? A 7-6 Hawaii team in a December 24th bowl? The lesson again, don't follow Jimmy and Charlie's footsteps and be a total douche before you've done anything.
  13. Here's SI's 16 team playoff bracket: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/football/ncaa/12/06/college.football.poll/index.html I agree 16 is too many.
  14. Spiller should have gone over Tebow. Yeah, that's a pretty glaring snub. Figures. Eh, it's not that outrageous. I know he's an all-around threat but he ran for less than 1,200 yards and had 15 offensive TD's in 13 games. He had four 100-yard rushing games and two 75-yard receiving games. He was a good return man and boom or bust back who had some games with almost no impact offensively.
  15. [expletive]. Total disaster of a game and then after like 5 other injuries, lose E.J. for the rest of the year. What an awful night.
  16. Hell, I love college football as much as they come and I didn't even get it until like 2 years ago. And if you do "get it," you get that Iowa might have made a BCS bowl only because it "travels well." That tells you right there the system is a crock. You're clueless. Iowa is ranked 10th in the BCS, very narrowly behind Georgia Tech. The top 9 teams are all in the BCS already. They beat the #11 team by two scores in their house. They were the most deserving team for that spot.
  17. I understand why people think it will be boring and won't watch. But again in terms of BCS games this year has the best group of teams ever. You have the top 10 teams in the country. Many years you have a #15-20 team in there and a couple or more teams outside the top 10. Or at least it feels that way. I'm not sure why people wouldn't want to watch Cincy/Florida. Plus I love watching Georgia Tech and would watch that offense against anyone. With all that said I do wish we were in the Fiesta against Boise.
  18. For the life of me I can't figure out who benefits from a Boise/TCU Fiesta Bowl. Not going to complain about a BCS bid but was hoping for the Fiesta with Boise. Orange Bowl won't be all that appealing nationally, plus the date will hurt attendance. Hopefully it doesn't have a lasting affect on Iowa's bowl rep. The Fiesta would have had 40,000 Iowa fans. Orange could be half of that.
  19. Which pretty much guarantees it's going to happen. Can't let the smaller schools beat a bigger conference team. I agree it's a horrible decision but I don't think that's the basis for it. Supposedly the Fiesta thinks Boise/TCU would be a huge ratings draw and are willing to take that even if they lose out on some attendance.
  20. Yeah sounds pretty close to official now. I'd rather have Fiesta. Never been there plus it would have more appeal and higher tv ratings.
  21. Seriously Redskins? Ugh if that game ends up being the deciding factor in home field...
  22. Now the rumors are saying Iowa to the Orange again which would mean TCU/Boise is on. I don't think anyone knows [expletive].
  23. That would be great news since that would mean that Boise and TCU can't face each other. Yeah most likely it means that it would play out just as everyone predicted all week. Fiesta- Iowa vs. Boise Rose- OSU vs. Oregon Sugar- Florida vs. Cincy Orange- TCU vs. Ga. Tech Still don't know why everyone suddenly thought Boise/TCU was a good idea yesterday.
  24. PSU vs. LSU then? Yep.
