Shame on us for letting this thread slide to the bottom of page 1. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/soccer/12/15/us.honduras.ap/index.html US is hosting Honduras in a World Cup tune-up on January 23 in California. Its not an official FIFA date, so it might be the B Team Bombers for the US.

It sounds like he'll continue to take some time off when they go on the road. I'm curious to see if WGN looks for a full-time fill-in as opposed to the rotation they've used the last year or two. Dave Otto seemed to get the opportunity more often than not, but I recall Keith Moreland getting a chance last year too. -
I guess Biggs is staying on the show even though he moved to the Tribune? Did they offer any reasons why the line was only 3? Lovie Smith's record against the Packers is the only thing that comes to mind. Huh...weird...I didn't know about Biggs' move till I read this. He wasn't on Mully and Hanley this morning, fwiw. At least not at the usual time that I hear it. He was on at 7 and it sounds like he'll continue to be despite switching papers. They also frequently have Dave van Dyck and Dan Pompeii on the air and they're both with the Trib.

I curious to see how the galleries react to Tiger when he does return to the tour. Every smartass is going to yell something at him relating to this fiasco. Tiger and his caddy are so thin skinned when it comes to cameras, noise, etc. that I can't see it going well.

It opened PTI and it was mentioned in the intro to Sportscenter. The story was after the Florida-Alabama and it was on a few minutes into the show.

I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said. I was pissed when we drew England and the pessimistic sports fan in me came out and I thought we were going to get nailed with the group of death. I was ecstatic when I saw Algeria and Slovenia though. One of the interesting things Bob Bradley mentioned was the close proximity within RSA of all the group games. He mentioned they could drive to all the matches and already had base camps scouted within the area. I can't wait til effing June.
