  1. A road win is always nice in the NFL, especially when its in a place such as Seattle. There's a lot of teeth gnashing in this thread about the tackling but you have to realize that going for the strip and causing turnovers is the M.O. of a Lovie Smith defense. Because the defense, especially Tillman, goes for the ball first there are going to be plays like the Jones TD early in the game when they miss a tackle. I'm a bit disappointed with the some of the coaching in the game. I thought the Gould FG attempt from 53 was bizarre and the Wolfe fiasco was awful. Turner's play calling in general is lacking. This week makes me a little leery facing the Lions. We should win but it seems like every game is nail biter with the '09 Bears.
  2. The Times have a story about the clash between Steven Cohen/WFD and the Liverpool supporters over Cohen's Hillsborough comments and the flare-up it's caused.
  3. I'm not naive enough to think there is no racism at Wrigley Field or any other ballpark for that matter. But in the bleachers, where I'd imagine that Bradley would encounter the most belligerent, drunken fans, a racist fan would have to yell pretty loud for Bradley to hear what he's saying. Wouldn't the people sitting around the fan speak up, tell an usher or do something about the idiot being racist? It is possible for Bradley's claims of racism to be found in more subtle forms such as the way things are phrased, etc.
  4. I think the Stan Thomas drafting was the beginning of the end of the Ditka era. He did not want Thomas anywhere near the Bears but Mike McCaskey (maybe?) drafted him anyway.
  5. That guy is raging a-hole.
  6. GO TEAM THAT IS PLAYING DALLAS GO ANY TEAM PLAYING AGAINST ANYTHING JERRY JONES
  7. I'm annoyed because I have Directv and I don't get it. I got a free preview last weekend and it was glorious.
  8. There's a lot of blame to go around in this whole mess. Unfair fan expectations because of the mythical "left handed power bat" fascination, Hendry making Bradley a huge contract offer, the media's interest in writing/reporting Bradley stories, Bradley's slow start, and his ultimately his frustration from a disappointing season boiling over the past few weeks. It is not shocking that Bradley's time with the Cubs will not work out, but I think most rational Cub fans were still hoping otherwise.
  9. This is a great win by the Bears. I'm excited about the emergence of Johnny Knox as a receiver that Cutler feels comfortable throwing to. I thought the defense played well when they needed to late in the game. I've never been a huge Robbie Gould fan because of his inability to make 50+ field goals but he's so reliable from anything under 50.
  10. Briggs has stepped it up big time today with urlacher being out.
  11. inexcusable. tommie harris' school of snap count guessing is not working.
  12. YES! Johhny Knox! That's a great read Jay!
  13. By bearing down on him you mean leading with the helmet again right? That's how they do it in the Steel City..
  14. Olsen has no interest in getting hit hard. I can't say I blame him.
  15. Beautiful. Olsen had unbelievable concentration to make that grab, especially with the safety bearing down on him.
  16. Where the hell is the vertical passing game? I'm ok with the screens if they're successful but it seems Jay hasn't had a chance to look down field much this half.
  17. nice, play brown. that was coverage all the way.
