    How many days has Jones been out? At least 5 already right? It seems that they should retroactive him now more then ever so another bench player can be added. With Mabry having a stiff neck and AR hurting a little too. Theriot would be a good choice there. IMO, they should look at derostering some people like Soto/Reyes. They won't be claimed and there would still be the emergency catcher call up if Soto remains. Also with Dope out with the foot injury, can't he go on the 60 day DL?

    From the looks of the game today, there are plenty of seats available at New Busch. This is horrible for the "best fans of the game". They have a new stadium and they can't sell it out 3 games into its existance. Yet Wrigley is sold out.

    Whcih innings does one use to prove that a pitcher"sucks"? The one inning where he makes the mistake or the 2 innings where he stuck out a batter looking.

    Errr...Z sucks because he walked 1 hit 1 and then gave up a homer. Nice to know that Z sucks because of 3 mistakes when he had dominated the previous 2 innings.

    I can't believe that Ohman only threw 12 pitches. At least he gave the reds value for each pitch. Sheesh. Good to see Williams and Wuertz have pretty good back 2 back outings. And its nice not see Williamson, Eyre, Howry & Dempster in this game.

    Ummm...yeah, not sure where everyone got the others...on the "Cubs Special" before the home opener Dan Roan talked to Eyre and the whole conversation was ver jovial and sprirted. They were talking about his new relationships, the fans knowing who he was and pitching in the weather.

    Gammons also insuiated on Sunday that Lee could command a better then Konerko deal this offseason. I think most would agree that Lee is better then Konerko but yet he is getting paid roughly the same. You can't call the deal 5 years and compare it with a 5 year deal this offseason because it would be 1 year longer then. Considering this deal will be 4/52 at the end of the year is very affordable in the Cubs budget considering the current contracts on the books and it is very fair for the player that the Cubs are getting. I wouldn't call the deal overpaid or underpaid. Its a fair deal for both sides and the no trade clause makes it worthwile for Lee. The additional bonus about this deal is the endorsements available now. Now that Lee knows he will be a Cub until 2010, sponsors won't balk at paying him more for an ad that could be current for 4 years. This will also help with the Cubs marketing as well.

    Speaking of funny, anyone catch Scott Eyre's pregame interview before the home opener with Dan Roan? Funny, very funny. I would hate to be a rookie pitcher in that bullpen with Eyre & Dempster
