  1. Ha Ha...good point. And thanks for the answers.
  2. Hi all. Sorry for the new thread for asking a question and I am not trying to start a stat debate but I have a honest question. I will wholeheartly admit that I am not a "stat head" and I don't claim to fully understand some of the advance statistics available. However, I am curious about how much stats can actually quantify. What I mean to ask is that for those who can provide statistics on pretty much any topic/player how much of the game can't be quantified? 10%? 5%?
  3. I think that Kevin Millar would be a good option. He would fit in well with Eyre and Demp
  4. Good to see Cedeno remain in the # 2 hole even with Hairston playing.
  5. So what does Green have left? As a Seahawks fan I like the deal as it adds depth without knowing how Hamlin comes back but give me an idea of how much Green can help.
  6. That's what I was thinking. Its called exorcising the demons and it means that the Cubs will ride the periviable wave of sucess for the rest of the season.
  7. I'm beginning to get that magical Cubs feeling. Like the '98 season or the '03 season. This year seems to be shaping up to be one of those "overcoming the odds" scenarios. Already having 4 come from behind victories, the manager and players getting pumped up in April and the fans shaking Wrigley already. It feels like this team could go down as one of the most beloved since '98 or even '89.
  8. He is on at 5:40 eastern.
  9. what about Kevin Millar from the O's? He should be pretty cheap and go go to a reserve role when Lee comes back.
  10. Wow Fred, thats an abundance for today! Lots of stuff to read Thanks!
  11. Out of curiousity how does Pierre's start match with other Leadoff hitters in the league?
  12. Could a Z no, no help eliminate the momentum lost with the Lee injury? This would be a good start for it to happen! Plus MLB is due for one
  13. If anyone saw the Penny game in LA, after nearly every out Penny would take off his hat, run his hand through his hair and put it back on. No one said a word. But apparently if a pitcher is dominating a TLR team its ok to insult him no matter the issue. I wonder what La Russa's soundbite was like after the game.
  14. They were (when they still had Redman) trying for it this season.
  15. Mike Shannon and he has called him that since his first major league appearance. The other guy is John Rooney. What a tool.
  16. Seriously? On a future HOF and 300 winner and now he cheats?
  17. That's only from this season. Last year's numbers...... Cedeno AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS batting 2nd 24 4 7 1 0 0 8 1 1 6 0.292 0.346 0.333 0.679 And still a good candidate then too.
  18. Either way, Maddux is done. BTW, on my way to work I was listening to the XM feed and it was the Cards radio. Who are those guys? The PBP guy kept calling Maddux, Maddocks. VERY annoying
  19. Thanks Fred, for some reason I thought he hit in the 2 hole last season more often.
  20. So (and Fred I am looking at you) what are Cedeno's numbers in the #2 spot?
  21. I think that the Pirates would be interested in Hill. Many might think that it would be overpaying but I doubt it. Hill has value right now and likely won't have as much at the end of the season due to age and Marshall's sucess. I think giving Hill up for Wilson would be a fair deal for both sides. What would be nice is Hill and Perez for Wilson and Sanchez but that is a pipe dream.
  22. I think that the obvious thing is that the Pen has been overused and they needed a long relief candidate given that Novoa is really a 2 inning guy at the most. Dusty has burnt the pen the last couple of days and needed a fresh arm until the off day Thursday.
  23. Hi all... Did Murton get brushed back on pitch #1? Gameday shows the pitch by his head
