    We know about what they won’t do than what they will do, like making a serious offer to Kyle Tucker. Trading for Joe Ryan and signing Alonso or Bregman to stay under the LT would be a huge surprise. I don’t see any way that happens.

    He won’t go over the LT, and we have a historical baseline for who and their $ amount of players he’ll invest into the roster with what he’s allowed to spend. No one knows how the offseason will shake out but what are the possible big surprises that deviate from the usual status quo?

    We’re supposed to shrug our shoulders when Dylan Cease signs with the Jays, who Jed allegedly “showed a lot of interest in” because he’s not worth 2016 Max Scherzer money. If they want to model themselves after the 2018-24 Braves they’ll need more star power than PCA and Michael Busch.

    Zach Gallen would be the quintessential free agent signing by this front office.

    They gave us a fortune for the right to draft Bryce Young, it’s beyond anyone’s guess what Tepper saw in him as a quarterback prospect especially with a weak roster where you can wait another year for a much stronger quarterback class and in doing so cut 2 pro bowl quarterbacks in Darnold and Mayfield. What a legendary f ck up.

    Caleb, DJ, Tyrique, Darnell Wright and Luther Burden in exchange for Bryce Young. If the Bears win a superbowl David Tepper deserves to have a statue built.

    Completion percentage is insignificantly correlated with qb performance and win probability when used in isolation. It’s no different than batting average. Mason Rudolph had a 23% edge in completion percentage on Sunday, the difference in the game was Caleb’s 8.03 ANY/A to Rudolph’s 4.06 ANY/A and Caleb’s 17 point edge in passer rating.

    You could be the 2022 Vikings at 9-2 with a -8 PD. There’s been worse. Last 2 Bears teams to start 8-3 were at +106 and +102 in 2018 and 2012.

    The regret was not taking Jayden McPeNix and the haul, but never Drake Maye, the actual top qb prospect from that draft class from our vocal fanbase for all of last year. He was never part of any haul hypothetical for some unexplainable reason. It’s quite comical the pivot from fields and MHJ to some combination of the non Maye or Caleb quarterbacks to now “Maye better”.
