  1. Whatever little faith I had in Imanaga after last year is completely gone,
  2. We’ve got a couple more weeks of MVP Dansby before he turns back into DFA Dansby for another 6 weeks.
  3. It’s a 3 run lead with 6 outs to go and every at bat feels like it’s bases loaded no one put up by 1.
  4. Yeah. And he’ll go into another extended slump and people will be talking about DFAing him again and the cycle will continue.
  5. Assad’s ERA would be at least in in the 5’s behind most defenses.
  6. He’s too streaky. A home run in April that leads to a win counts less than one in May or July. The score keepers should only record a home run of his if they’re hit 4 games apart and preferably in the 9th inning down by a run. If it’s not linear then it shouldn’t count.
  7. I don’t think anyone would be surprised if I told everyone that the Cubs would be 41-37 with 8 innings from Horton, Boyd missing multiple months, Palencia with 2 IL stints and Steele hasn’t thrown a single inning yet. Unfortunately no positive reinforcements coming from Horton or Steele and Cabrera will miss at least a month.
  8. I’ll never get over him holding onto Ohtani during the trade deadline in his walk year multiple games out of a playoff seed. He even doubled down by trading for Giollito.
  9. If he can sustain his rate stats since April 21st and finish the year with a 162 wRC+. I wouldn’t bet on it but ZIPS projected a 4.7 and he’s already at 4.6 through 77 games.
  10. 28th in pitching war, 30th in home runs/9 at 1.49 and a modest 17th in ERA. Pretty horsefeathers bad without the defense. Cubs also have the same total war as the Braves with 18.6, just 8 less wins.
  11. Today marks the first time since May 3rd that the Cubs didn’t lose on a Sunday.
  12. If there’s a rainout we’re guaranteed to have our first winning homestand in 2 months.
  13. To be fair, he has 3 homers and a 70 wRC+ away from Yankee stadium where he benefits from the dimensions. I don’t think we’d get the same bang for buck that the Yankees do.
  14. A 1432 OPS, 2.8 fWAR and 10 homers, 6 stolen bases over his last 19 and the Cubs are 9-10. At this rate though I’d be disappointed if his wRC+ is under 130 at seasons end. I would’ve been ecstatic if he finished with a 120 before the season started.
  15. People expect top 10 stats in all triple crown categories like Happ’s a top 10 highest paid player in baseball for some strange reason.
  16. Pitching staff is Injured and bad. Middle of the order turtles like usual when it’s time to knock in base runners. What a ****** loss.
  17. Good clutch hitting by our super reliable middle of the order.
