  1. Since You already the answer, I’d rather you just tell me. Or him.
  2. Why would being locked into a fourth seed, at the moment, be tye reason they have lower odds at winning the WS than every other currently seeded team? Is the Tucker IL stint part of the equation?
  3. World Series winning odds are down to 3.8% on Fangraphs, lowest of any team currently seeded for a playoff spot.
  4. Cubs catchers have a combined 29 homers this season. Every time I expect Carson Kelly to face plant to the back of his baseball card like Seiya and Busch have he hits 4 homers in 9 games.
  5. Exactly. Not enough quick hitting anticipation routes to receivers on the permitter. Flores conceded a lot of the underneath throws to Swift and it allowed to him gain yards with his legs on that opening drive, largely because he was late on his reads. Once Flores started defending the underneath throws Caleb couldn’t keep them honest with his awful accuracy on throws over 10 yards and the offense had no answer. I wish I was born in Boston. The real question is do the Cubs or Bears win more games in October?
  6. They’ve sucked for the last 11 years and counting with 8 losing seasons and 1 winning season. I’d kill for mediocrity. At least it’s watchable football. That’s how low the bar has gotten.
  7. He’s coming off a great start of 7 innings and zero earned runs. We caught him a bad time.
  8. Brad Elder again? The Cubs just can’t catch a break.
  9. What gets me the most is not just the expected regression to the mean from Seiya and PCA but how their power numbers have completely flat lined. Even with an expected drop in slug they were locks for 30+ home runs by September, and they’re still sitting in the high 20’s. I know June 1st is the before and after date you’ve set but Michael Busch’s second half OPS has dropped 302 points from what he posted in the first half. Out of curiosity what website do use to sample stats by date?
  10. That includes the soft Giants, the only capable team during this stretch that outscored them by 13 runs in a 3 game sweep.
  11. Palencia has 3 blown saves? These things happen. Putting up 5 total runs in 3 games vs Lord Elder and Alvarez is something that can’t happen if you believe playing the nationals is a layup for this cubs team we’ve been watching for 2 months.
  12. They’ve had to go through the gauntlet of Andrew Alvarez, Brad Lord and Brad Elder in a matter of 4 games. I wouldn’t wish that on the Brewers.
  13. Is Rea hurt? In other words we’re talking about a bullpen game without PCA and Tucker in the lineup vs Washington where taking 2/3 is a layup. Hopefully they can hold on for a 3-2 win today.
  14. Rockies need only 2 wins to in the final 20 to finish with a better record than last years Whitesox. Their -363 run differential is already an MLB record and on pace for-414. That’s the history I’m paying attention to.
  15. I still worry the most about the Phillies, but once Edman and Muncy return they’ll be a problem. Not sure what to make of Betts though.
  16. Pirates have swept the Giants Phillies Mets Tigers Cardinals and Dodgers and have taken series from the Redsox and Blue Jays over the last couple of weeks. Cubs are 25-28 vs all teams currently seeded with a +run differential, that’s not what the current focus should be regarding their playoff chances.
  17. Muncy and Edman are expected to return from the IL soon.
  18. Which horsefeathers pitcher will mow then down tomorrow? Hopefully they’ll be on the right side of a one run win vs another team over 25 games under 500.
  19. 6 combined hits, 2 combined runs, 12.2 innings from the combined efforts of Brad Elder and Brad Lord. We’re…… something
  20. Remember when the teams kryptonite was left handed starters and not right handed pitchers with ERAs over 4.5?
  21. Another ****** team they’re playing in a game down to the wire. One they’ll probably lose too.
  22. This team sure has a knack for nail biting games vs really bad teams lately.
  23. It’s tough luck for any team having to face Brad Elder and Brad Hand in 2/3 games.
