  1. This was a matchup that played right into the cubs hands. A lineup with only 152 homers that doesn’t strike out much leaving the game in the hand of the Cubs gloves. Padres struggles on the road and hitting lefties were also a nice assist.. . Also nice to see Busch’s hard contact in games 1 and 2 rewarded with some nice BABIP luck+ a solo shot with neutral wind conditions. Swanson LDS MVP. Will the arms have enough rest for the LDS? F ck Milwaukee.
  2. Holding Tatis, Arriez and Machado to 0-11 with a walk was huge. Arriez is a much slower runner than you’d expect.
  3. They’re 9th in offense war since June 1st and 17th in runs scored. Make of it what you will. I’m sure the park factor explains some of it but it’s a large gap.
  4. Bad choice by the computer there. They’ll need some BABIP luck if the wind is knocking everything down before the nuclear power plant padres pen arms come in.
  5. I would’ve pinched hit him for Turner in the bottom of the fourth with 2 outs and 2 on vs Morejon and let Alcantara replace him in center field. Letting him hit in that situation basically conceded the inning.
  6. Padres are built to win these short elimination series with that bullpen going 5 innings. This strategy works until the later rounds when the fatigue sets in but not in a best of 3.
  7. I think he’s referring to their payroll:revenue ratio. Could be wrong though.
  8. Oh I know. It was more of humorous observation. He’s still been a top 10 hitting left fielder every season since 2022. I think his contract plays a role in some of that scrutiny too. $20 million in 2025=$20 million/year a decade ago+ in the eyes of many. Take it up with Jed then.
  9. What were you expecting? He’s a league average hitter and a gold glove defender who’s worth 4 wins. Your issue is with Jed on this. If you wanted an elite MI bat then Trea Turner is your guy for 11 years/$300 million. He’s paid accordingly for his production at 7/$177. He’s not Jason Heyward.
  10. 5 innings give or take vs that padres bullpen in an elimination series is worrying. We need Tucker to be that superstar we traded for. The Horton and Steele injuries are lethal enough.
  11. I shouldn’t say that. It coincided more with Brax getting benched. They moved Benedet over to LT and Ozzy moved over to RT to start the second half.
  12. Ozzy Trapillo looked much better than Benedet.
  13. Time for Caleb to have a signature game winning touchdown drive.
  14. Jarrett is a big loss, not because he’s good but the alternative is someone drafted by Ryan Poles.
  15. They suck at containing the edge.
  16. 26 rushes/228 yards vs 19/39.
  17. That confidence boost hasn’t rubbed off on Caleb today unfortunately.
  18. No excuse to lose a game where youre winning the turnover battle 4:1. Caleb’s going to have to step up in the fourth quarter.
