    9-7 and the pitching has been suspect. The offense is working counts, seeing lots of pitches, and the lineup seems like it is consistently in good matchups. I'll take it. Keep at this pace and we're 90-70. Perfectly acceptable.

    im afraid to ask, but how old is your kid now? He's 11, will be 12 6/27. Loves the Cubs, wears 23. . . . . until Bryant's number has been determined. It's really cool seeing him take such an interest in a player. He's up to speed on all his minor league accomplishments and the controversies surround his spring success and impending call-up. Friday night, he kept his eyes on Bryant for 3 hours. Very cool to watch.

    Bryant hit one about 400 foul on 0-2 count. Semi dong? Then hit a squibber to 3b coach who gave the ball to my kid

    Kris Bryant is alive and well in Memphis. Ryno has watched his every move from BP to fielding grounders. Fwiw, bryant didn't do any outfield work. ....but the guy has a GD hose at third.

    My kid thinks Bryant is the best thing since air conditioning I tend to agree. Iowa starts the year in memphis and we have front row 3b tickets friday night can't recall the last time ryne was this excited

    Does anyone else think the new construction will have a positive affect with the wind blowing in? Balls that are hit hard and kept below board level may have a better chance of getting out than in previous years.

    I think he'll be the opening day starter. With the madden tampering BS and the potential grievance filed by the players union if Bryant is held back, I think the cubs buckle and KB starts with the big club. I'm all for the extra year, but if he's going to kick ass and take names, might as well start now. Win a world series in the next 5 years and he can name his price when he becomes a free agent and I won't give a crap if the cubs, yankees, or bad news bears sign him.

    He's full of crap. I've coached for 20 years. I've bought more than my fair share of shoes, bats, uniforms, and entry fees for kids that couldn't afford to play. And I miraculously managed to do it without breaking the rules of the organization we were playing.

    What's a guy like Hammel going to go for? Pitched great for the cubs; not so great for oakland. Signing Lester and Hammel could be nice . . . . .then maybe Melky. It's awesome how we're only a move or two away from being a post season competitor.

    An offseason of Lester, Hammels, and melky Cabrera would be awesome. Plenty of pitching depth. Veteran hitter. Compete for the post season. I'm patient, but they need to win ball games next year.
