  1. Let's unpack the whole lesbian training the baseball whore thing. It has potential depending upon the hotness level of the lesbian.
  2. Was the 2009 season the year that Hendry thought we needed to get more left handed? That 2008 club was awesome to watch -- never felt like they'd lose a game until they drew the red hot dodgers in the first round of the playoffs.
  3. I was there as well. I want to like the rangers. Great ballpark. Just can't make myself be a fan
  4. Called directv up to try and negotiate a deal for extra innings. No dice. $120 for the remainder of the year. I tried every trick in the book. Finally told them to eat my balls. 22 wgn games left. Bunch of day games I couldn't watch anyway. Hopefully with more night games next year, the bringing up of Bryant, and generally not sucking next year will see me take the plunge for the full season
  5. Bunch of [expletive] cardinal fans in this state. It's truly sickening.
  6. Also a little odd that he won just as many cy young awards as I did
  7. I can only assume a hammered drunk Sutcliffe is driving the bandWGN
  8. My son and my folks are there tonight. They walked up and bought 4th row behind the dugout at 630. Now I see how. No crowd! Guess tonight's attendance- A) 8 B) 17 C) 11
  9. Manny over smilin ricky for manager!
  10. I also miss the early days of nsbb. I feel like old balls now....
  11. Sandberg for sure. I was glued to the TV for his entire career. A distant second was Jody Davis. I couldn't stand Damon Berryhill for what I thought was taking Jody's place. Looking back, Jody was just worn out and on the down side of a decent career. Mark Grace and Andre Dawson round it out for me.
  12. I'd like to thank Mr Finely for bringing me to Oakland. I look forward to playing for Mr Williams and playing with Reggie and Rollie.
  13. don't forget the Hojo Johnson (Harry's words, not mine) experiment from 1995.
  14. Cake farts is awesome
  15. Anyone see the best fan in baseball make an ass of himself?
  16. Maybe the government can fix this problem, too.
  17. How do I get this third hand of which NY speaks?
  18. I recommend you meet up with Vance at the HoF. He's good people. Take your time in the museum. It will be crowded and you will be tempted to rush. Don't. Savor every little detail.
  19. I remember the 89 cubs having the best record in the NL and the lowest team salary in the NL (and possibly the majors). they did start signing some guys in the 91-93 range, but spending money on Danny Jackson, Dave Smith, Jose Guzman, Greg hibbard and Steve Buechelle just doesn't get anyone worked up. I contend their biggest screw up in the last 25-30 years was not giving Dallas Green and Jim Frey enough time to build the organization.
  20. This is almost as exciting as signing Danny Jackson and Dave smith!
  21. I don't have any friends on here or in real life. You can tell me. I thought we were friends.
  22. No player did more on cocaine, and kept his performance at a HoF level, than Tim Raines. God bless him. I'll always support him for the hall.
  23. I seem to recall Himes being real pissy with Maddux when he decided to test the market and field some offers. I think Himes set a deadline. Maddux went over by a day or so but ultimately wanted to sign with the cubs but Himes pulled the offer. As for the hall. How can anyone justify Morris as a HoF guy?
  24. In 89 ( I was 12) I was outside wrigley after a game trying to get autographs. Got a few, joe girardi hung around and talked to me and my folks for a good 10 minutes. I met Boggs and sandberg in the Albany airport after the 2005 hall of fame weekend. They were cool, but you could tell they had been through a long week.
