  1. Damn sham
  2. Honestly, this could be a good thing. If playing it safe means he's only going to try to steal in high percentage scenarios (pitcher gives him a huge lead, etc.) sign me up. I could easily live with 20 to 25 swipes with a high success rate.
  3. I wouldn't go that far. I'll take Pie's spring training numbers if they're an indication of things to come. I'd just like to see him get all his rest versus lefties he'd struggle against anyway.
  4. Link Good to see it remains Pie or Fuld. Good luck in AAA Fuld, may you put up monster numbers and inflate your trade value. Fukudome in center. Would be excellent. Fukudome in center versus lefties with Murton in right. As the article indicates though it's likely for emergency purposes. Someone else will be Pie's backup
  5. Actually, lets go ahead and get Pierre. Pierre for Marquis. Dodgers pay 100% of Pierre's deal. We pay 50% of Marquis'. Throw in a throwaway prospect and call it a day. Pierre would actually play a position on this team that his skills are above average for. 25th man/5th Outfielder.
  6. um... When I think of inside sources, I think of someone too lazy to unstick their comma keys. :^o
  7. Just wait until the Rays pay him $4 million not to come back and then sign him to a "Wood Make Good" contract.
  8. Um, I'll be happy to take a flier on him in 2009. God willing.
  9. +1 Thirded. fixed. Fourthed Fifthed
  10. Yeah, I think he's just saying he wouldn't hit Soto 9th and make Soriano follow. Which is actually sound reasoning.
  11. What kinda cheese is on it? Not sure, but we're well stocked up on whine. So even if the sandwhich has no cheese we can probably afford it. And who cares if not, what with all that wine we'll be drinking when Marquis is gone. :D
  12. For Marquis, sure. In case they still have fondness for Anderson I'll also accept a ham sandwich in return for Marquis.
  13. You only had 3 posts when you sent that response. Britney Spears still wore panties when he sent that response.
  14. I'd sure kill for a profession that offered 100 million in career earning with retirement at 35. Good work if you can find it...
  15. How about this. Lets send Fuld to AAA Iowa...to play shortstop. Give him his glove, tell him good luck and god help him, and see what happens midyear. Perhaps then he can replace Ryan Theriot and save the team.
  16. My wish would be for Dusty to force Krivsky to trade Jay Bruce and Joey Votto for Juan Pierre and Esteban Loaiza. I'd rather it be to us for Sam Fuld and Jason Marquis.
  17. This is really the smoking gun though that, assuming it pans out, really ends Rogers case. If he was lying about this, why should anyone believe a word on anything else? And at least Canseco has a little wiggle room. It was his party and was probably a big party. He could have honestly forgotten Roger was there (though something tells me a big stack of 100's probably bought that failure of memory, but that's mostly due to my feelings on Jose). Kind of hard for Roger to explain why he forgot he was at the party.
  18. Just be careful guys. If there is a god I have a feeling He would find Dusty Baker, Manager of the World Champion Cincinnati Reds REALLLLY funny. I'm more of the mind at this point to not kick a guy when he's down, and wish him success against most teams other than the Cubs. It would be nice if the Reds could own the Brewers and Astros while going about even with the Cards and Pirates. While getting swept by us, of course. :D In fact, if I could make a wish it would be for the Cubs to win the NL Central while the Reds win the wild card. We destroy the Padres in 3 games while the Reds stumble past the Mets. Then we sweep the Reds to go onto the World Series. Heh, and I think Dusty would be quite alright with that scenario in his first season in Cincy.
  19. If you could get Roberts & Bedard without giving up Rich Hill, you do it in a heartbeat. Sounds too good to be true.
  20. I remember a week or so ago he said he was dealing with family things. yeah i remember that too, i guess i was just hopein Or maybe he just doesn't respond to every single request for his presence here. But we activated the Bruce signal and everything...
  21. Hell, this news alone makes me want him to be off limits in any Roberts deal. Find us a better SS with a package deal Jim. Keep this Sean. And I'd like to keep Marshall too if he'll actually get a chance. I wonder if they have the balls to let Marquis pitch himself out of the rotation in Spring Training.
  22. Plus Hendry may not even be thinking of getting Cabrera as a sure thing starter. It could just be as our 4th outfielder subbing in all 3 positions, especially if Murton were to go back to the Yankees in a multiple player deal that didn't include Pie. Would give us insurance in case Pie proves not to be MLB ready.
  23. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3168534 Typical Roger.. I wonder how much he sold himself for to CBS for the exclusive? And do him and his team not realize that publicly stating that you are hiring pi's to investigate McNamee make him look more guilty? Yeah, didn't work out so well for OJ...
