Against the A's and one of those hits yesterday was weakly hit and lucky to fall in. He also had an error yesterday, 3 on the season.
Problem is the other options aren't exactly great. I just don't think he looks comfortable at all.
I feel like Shaw could use a few weeks in Iowa to get going after the short spring. He looks like he's pressing a bit and doesn't look comfortable at the plate or fielding. I'd be ok trying Workman/Berti for a bit.
I thought a lot of guys on both teams looked flat with the day game after a night game. PCA included.
He needs to stop chasing so much. He's not nearly a good enough hitter to be worth swinging at so many balls. He also needs to stop wrapping his hand with the base running mitt as he's taking his lead.
I'm looking forward to the Cubs trading away more of its top prospects for a rental in the stretch run because the owner was too cheap to OK signing enough talent in the offseason.
I think he'll hit, I just worry about the glove at 3B, he's pretty stiff and I don't see that changing. I suppose there's a chance he can make himself about average defensively.
