Yeah. Would be really nice if Brown has a solid season. Still a shot that Horton comes up in the 2nd half, but not banking on it. Taillon's a solid #3 or 4 guy. Boyd has a chance to be solid too. If Taillon/Boyd both put up around 4.00 ERA's and stay healthy i'm ok with that. 6 earned runs tonight isn't gonna do it. The season is young, Tailon's velo is up a tick this year.

On Savant it says Keller's 4-seam averaged 93.8 mph last year and 93.3 in 2023. 2-3 mph bump this year. He was a part-time SP swingman type though before. Hopefully the velo and pen change etc helps because he's been trash the last 4 seasons.

Yup i just checked too, he was sitting 93 touching 94 all night. Last 2 AB's in the 5th he was down to 92 mph. He averaged 92.3 last year so that's encouraging. Ran into a lot of lefties tonight and missed some spots in the heart of the plate. Command is key for him so hopefully he gets into his full groove soon. Hard to be pinpoint out the gate plus on the road i'd imagine.

Well no radar gun during ST games means i had no idea Keller was throwing consistently 96-97mph as he did tonight per Savant.

Bro... I was thinking about him today. Ricketts hasn't let him spend on a star, and Jed probably wasn't allowed to tank either (gotta fill them seats). They dumped Bellinger's salary and Tom pocketed the savings instead of keeping the same payroll as last year while making a lame bid for Bregman and passing on every FA ace. Jed's done fine considering he's had 1 hand tied behind his back, sometimes both. Considering his back is up against the wall with the end of his contract i think he did pretty well this winter. Not perfect but with what he had to spend this winter it's not bad at all. I'm still iffy on that Boyd contract but let's see. Go Cubs!

Cubs pitchers gave up 32 billion HR this spring for whatever reason.

Average pitching staff, well-above average defense, above- average offense. I'm projecting 87-88 wins +/- 3 wins of variability. I think the wildcard here is the offense. You get solid offensive years out of PCA, Amaya. and Shaw plus Tucker has a typical very good year and the offense could take off and be iinside the top 7 in MLB.

PCA led the MLB in ST with a 249 wRC+ and hit .500. He also didn't take a walk and somehow had a batting average higher than his OBP hahaha. Amaya hit ,500 too. Cody Bellinger hit .423 with 4 HR. Tucker/Bellinger regrets LOL jk.

Let's hope PCA stays healthy and doesn't run through a wall. Alcantara looks like he has a hole in his swing for sliders & hard breaking stuff like Morel does. RHB with big long swings seem susceptible to that.
