  1. White lefty with a strange name. I get it. I had to think about it before asking.
  2. I feel like this team needs someone to get a big hit and it will loosen up the team. You will see them start hitting again. Even when they win, they are not scoring runs. This needs to stop very soon.
  3. True. They aren’t hitting again anyway. That is the biggest point.
  4. Is it blowing out? I think it is a crosswind and in a little when hit to right. Not really a factor.
  5. Hoerner is 3rd in Baseball when hitting with risp. He doesn’t make weak contract all the time.
  6. I think you are on an island on this one Stratos. Like I said, I respect your opinions, but this one is way off base. Just not something a team would do.
  7. Let’s make it simpler. You are not intentionally trying to hurt anyone at any time in any game, period. What is being suggested is the Pirates saw PCA hurt his knee and then thought, hey wouldn’t it be a good idea to further his pain by hitting him on the knee. Why would they do that🤷 They wouldn’t.
  8. I agree. He just doesn’t seem right. I think something is bothering him and he is trying to play through it.
  9. No, it isn’t close to the most incredible coincidence ever. But it is 100% a coincidence, even if it was the exact spot. What reason do they have to hit PCA? Why do they want to hurt him? Why would they put him on base? Teams just don’t hit people to hurt them. They also don’t send messages any more by hitting players. And, frankly, what would be the reason to send PCA a message anyway?
  10. I know paying guys that long is not the best idea. But look at all the star mega deals. They get paid to 40-42 years old. Before the season started I am positive that was what he would have gotten. He might still get it. But if he doesn’t he might want a short term, opt out deal to gain value. If he has the season most expected, OPS about .900 and an OBP of around .400 he would have been given that 12 year deal.
  11. But he is also a guy who offers more than Vlad. He should age better. I agree with you as to age should be taken into account. So maybe he gets a few less years. But I would think he would expect the annual to be similar, at least prior to this year. It is not a tech to have thought something like 12/$450 was his goal prior to this season. I don’t see him getting that at this time.
  12. He may not be in the Soto, Ohtani, Judge level, but he is in the same level as Guerrero, who signed for $500M. He will get paid well. But he might get more if he played another year to show this year was not a downward trend.
  13. Ok, Stratos, for starters, beaning means hit in the head. PCA was not beaned. He was hit on the side. Second, Cruz is on the IL. Even if you pick Reynolds instead, what purpose does that serve to “bean” or hit him? Do you really think the Pirates hit PCA on purpose? Come on? And on the hip where you suggest he got hurt and should have been taken out of the game? Really? He seemed fine after that play. Got another hit and beat a throw to send easily on his SB attempt. I know you view baseball differently than I do, but I do generally respect your opinion. But in this post you are way off in so many ways.
  14. Sure has. And now we have another who wants to start all his own threads. GREAT, just GREAT!!! I am as frustrated as anyone else here. But the fact is they are still in good shape to make the playoffs. They do need to start hitting. But they do have the players that historically have proven they can hit. If they get back to their typical numbers they will be fine. I do worry about the innings with Horton and Boyd. I also know many will suggest if they get in they will be a quick out. And that is possible too. But it is also possible to play well in the playoffs after limping in. They just need to get there. I am sure when they are knocked out (if they are) all the negative posters will tell us how they knew they wouldn’t make it and give us their reasons why. Which is easy to do once a team is out. 29 fan bases will be right about their team. They didn’t win it all. So easy to just stay negative and wait for the “I told you so”.
  15. This is probably true. But oddly enough, a bad Tucker season could result in him taking a Correa/Bellinger like deal after this season. Something with a buyout after each year. I honestly do not see how anyone gives him a 12/$450, which was pretty much expected, after this season. If his hand was hurt this year he might have to prove he is a player worthy of that contract. Maybe another year and he ends up with 11/$410 after taking a prove it opt out deal of around $35M next year. Maybe a 4 year $35M annual where he can opt out any year. 🤷 I just don’t see next year as his biggest opportunity to get the most years and salary. Not after the season he has had so far.
  16. No they have not collapsed thr last 2 months of either season. The record is what the record is. That is a fact. They were 30-26 and 31-21 the last two seasons over the last 2 months if the season. You act like saying something factual is a bad thing. So obviously you must watch fox, if I watch cnn. They did not win those years because in one of the years they were only ..500 entering the final 2 months and in the other year they were under .500 going into the last 2 months. I would take either years last 2 months this year and they would win over 90 games. Keep in mind this isn’t what my eyes tell me. These are FACTS. Something that’s obviously not what you care about.
  17. All 3 of those guys had had OPS over .800 (Suzuki over 900) the last 2 months of the 24 season. There are not the problem.
  18. My god Caesar. Do you just write horsefeathers without actually looking it up hoping no one will fact check you. The last two years the Cubs have gone 30-26 and 31-21 in August and September. So now I have to ask you, do you even watch the team or are you just bitching to just say something without any actual facts behind it?
  19. I don’t think you blame Counsell for what PCA did. But WTF was PCA doing. It wasnt like you momentarily slid off the base. It wasnt horsefeathers close. They need to get their heads out of their ass and start playing better. And as for Tucker, I don’t even want him. He might be playing himself into a Bellinger/Correa sort of contract next year. I mean is anyone really going to give him 10/$380? I don’t see it. Maybe 3/$105 with opt outs each year. I don’t see more for him. Honestly, he hasn’t been good.
  20. To be fair, PCA isn’t hitting anyone. I am fine with giving him the day.
